Thumbnail cache

Windows 7 had 4 size options: 32x32 96x96 256x256 1024x1024

Windows 10 smallest size is 16 pixels and the largest is 2560 pixels

Location:Appdata/local/microsoft/windows/explorer

Each thumbnail is stored in a database and each size has its own database. ex thumbcache_256

In windows xp, thumbs.db are hidden files. once they are created they are never deleted

In Windows 2008-10:

Image caches use the name thumbcache_[size].db
