Ultrastructure as an Application
This page describes the HandiNAVI desktop and mobile application the presents Ultrastructure as an Application.
HandiNAVI is an installable Mac application. The HandiNAVI application provides a universal user interface and single page application builder. In addition, the HandiNavi provides a local NAVI endpoint for web applications.
See HandiNAVI command reference for command line administration tools provided by the HandiNAVI executable jar
- Universal UI - Universal single page application UI runtime.
- Phantasm GraphQL API - JSON based Query and Mutation through Facebook's graph query language
- Phantasm Animation - Stored procedures and triggers for Phantasms.
- Security - Capability based security and OAuth bearer token authentication.
You will need to create one piece of configuration, which is the YAML file that describes how to connect to your database. Minimally, this file includes:
auth: NULL # don't try to authenticate connections
# how we talk to the DB
jpa:
persistenceUnit: CoRE # don't change, this is ours
properties:
javax.persistence.jdbc.user: ${db.login}
javax.persistence.jdbc.password: ${db.password}
javax.persistence.jdbc.url: jdbc:postgresql://${db.server}:${db.port}/${db.database}
javax.persistence.jdbc.driver: org.postgresql.Driver
The example above is written using Maven ${replacement.variable} style. The five required parameters are:
- db.login
- db.password
- db.server
- db.port
- db.database
Once you have the server.yml file created, you can launch the HandiNAVI process using the following java command:
java -jar navi-2.0.0-SNAPSHOT-phat.jar] -server server.yml
The navi-2.0.0-SNAPSHOT-phat.jar is the devops friendly java JAR file that contains everything you need to run the HandiNAVI process, except for the database and the server.yml file that tells HandiNAVI how to connect to that database.
