7.FAQ ‐Troubleshooting
I can't join the server: "mod rejections" or a missing-mod message. The mod is needed on both the server and every player's game, and the files must match. Use the exact same file as the server.
Fabric crashes on start. Fabric API is missing. Install it on both sides.
Which file do I use for NeoForge? On 1.20.1, use the forge file; it works on NeoForge 1.20.1.
I can't see a hologram.
- Are you close enough? Each hologram has a view distance (
/aholo <name> render <distance>), and the server has a limit (maxViewDistance). - Is it in another dimension?
- Is it attached to another player, privately? (
/aholo <name> attach info) - Does an element have a Who sees it condition you don't meet?
-
/aholo list near 50shows holograms around you.
Text shows {something} instead of a value.
Either the placeholder is mistyped, or it belongs to a mod that isn't installed. /aholo placeholders lists what's available; /aholo placeholders parse <text> shows what text turns into for you.
A value is blank.
Placeholders from mods (like {econ.player.balance}) are blank when that mod isn't installed or connected. For linked blocks, the block's chunk may not be loaded (available(LINK)).
Buttons don't do anything.
- Get closer: the default click distance is 6 blocks.
- Right-click the button while looking at it.
- Is the button greyed out? Its disabled if condition is true.
- Does it have a cooldown or a cost? Check the action bar for a message.
- Does it need a permission you don't have?
Clicking a button also breaks the block behind it. Left-click only belongs to buttons that have a left-click action; use right-click for normal buttons.
"This shop needs a linked chest or barrel to trade from."
Player-owned holograms can only trade from their own linked container. Link one (/myholo link <name> <link>) and add &link=<link> to the trade.
"Out of stock" / "The shop's storage is full" / "The shop can't pay for that right now." The linked chest ran out of items, has no room for the payment, or has no currency left to pay a seller. Restock or empty it.
Money shops say no economy mod is installed. Money trades need an economy mod that works with AdvancedInteractions (such as Lightman's Currency). Without one, use a [barter shop](LINK: Shops guide).
The demo's bakery trades in emeralds. That's the no-economy-mod version. With an economy mod, it trades for money, and players can switch with "Use emeralds" / "Use money".
Pressing H does nothing.
You need op level 2 or the advancedinteractions.editor permission, or to own the hologram you're looking at. Not looking at one opens the browser (staff only).
My changes didn't save.
Click Save (Ctrl+S). Players also have a short save cooldown and size limits (see the config's playerEditor).
I can't add a console command to a button.
That needs op level 4 or the advancedinteractions.action.console permission. Use cmd: to run the command as the clicking player instead.
Ask in Github Issues. Include your Minecraft version, loader and the mod's version, and your logs/latest.log if something crashed.
