Roadmap to 1.0

LakeDB 0.10.3 current beta capabilities, upcoming 1.0 trust milestone and future ideas

LakeDB grows through clear product milestones. This roadmap records the evolution from 0.1 to today's 0.10.3 beta and defines the remaining trust work before a stable 1.0.

The milestones tell the product story and do not all map one-to-one to archived downloadable binaries. The latest release is the supported download.

Product evolution

Before 1.0

Signed distribution

Trusted installation flows, code signing, macOS notarization, publisher identity and a documented package-verification path.

Smooth updates — in beta

Update discovery, preserved workspace state and guarded local-data migrations are now in beta validation.

Polish and accessibility

Keyboard navigation, focus and screen-reader improvements now include automated serious/critical checks. Onboarding, broader beta feedback, performance and visual consistency remain ongoing.

Stability and compatibility

A documented compatibility matrix, stable local-data migrations and broader release-candidate testing focused on safety and upgrade blockers.

LakeDB 1.0

Version 1.0 is the stable LakeDB Free foundation: dependable, documented and upgrade-safe for daily MySQL and MariaDB work across supported platforms. Existing Free essentials do not move behind a subscription at 1.0.

Beyond 1.0

Longer-term Pro exploration includes Lake AI, a schema-aware AI agent, cloud sync, dashboards, scheduled queries and team collaboration. Free remains the local foundation; Pro adds automation and collaboration inside the same application.

Read LakeDB Free and Pro for more detail.

The roadmap is a direction, not a fixed schedule. Scope can change with product learning and community feedback.
