These work as soon as you plug them in. Buttons are shown by their names (Cross, L1, Share, D-Pad Up) instead of raw codes.

Any other USB controller works too: pick it in the remapper and map it yourself. Its mapping is saved per USB vendor and product.
- Wii Classic Controller: works in the front ports with no mapping needed. Every button, including L, R, ZL and ZR, is picked up by the remapper.
-
Some Wii Classic Controller (Pro) clones aren't recognised by the console at all. The console logs
controller setup failed with error 70and never opens the controller. No mapping can fix that: it is the console's own driver failing to start the clone.
- The remapper changes what the console's emulators see. It doesn't change the Home menu or other apps.
- A USB controller must have a mapping (yours or a ready-made profile) to be used in games. Without one, the console falls back to its own generic mapping, which for unknown pads can leave only some buttons working.
