A Resource edit element is a way to import a file or folder into the PC_External directory. In most cases, this is a way to replace existing resources the game loads with your own custom ones. So if you'd like to reskin Ty to be a ninja, you'd import the appropriate textures using this edit element.
A resource element is one of the more simpler edit elements. The only information it needs is the source directory/file and the destination directory/file.
- The source path is relative folder that the XML is placed in.
- The destination path is relative to the PC_External directory.
- Do NOT use absolute paths when specifying the source and destination.
<resource destination="">value</plugin>
| Type | Name | Required | Description | Usage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| value | value | Yes | The source file or folder | <resource>my modded ui thunderegg.dds</resource> |
| attribute | destination | No | The destination file or folder | <resource destination="prop_common_thunderegg.dds">... |
<root>
<tymod name="Main Menu Music Override" version="1.0.0" tyversion="" authors="Dnawrkshp" description="Chew Z by ADHDJ (https://soundcloud.com/adhdjklol/chew-z-1)">
<resource destination="music_frontend.ogg">FrontendMods/Chew_Z_ADHDJ.ogg</resource>
</tymod>
</root>- The value points to a relative file.
- The
destinationattribute points to a relative file.
In the provided example, the file located at $(TyInstallationPath)/Mods/FrontendMods/Chew_Z_ADHDJ.ogg is copied into $(TyInstallationPath)/PC_External/music_frontend.ogg and effectively changes the Main Menu music.
