domains must use Cloudflare's CNAME flattening setting

Mixing CNAME with other records is possible in Cloudflare, as long as CNAME Flattening is used for the zone. Notice that CNAMEs can be on zone apex along with SOA and NS records in this scenario. Notice also that users can turn off CNAME Flattening, which will cause these types of CNAMEs to break.
