Support

Support for Meta Hunter is available through the Earthenmist - Addon Hub Discord.

Getting Access to Support

After joining the Discord:

  1. Go to #role-select.
  2. Select the Addon User role.
  3. The Support area will then become available.

If you are helping test development builds, select the Beta Tester role to access the testing areas as well.

Bug Reports

Use #bug-reports when something is not working as expected.

When reporting a bug, please include as much useful information as possible, such as:

  • Meta Hunter version
  • World of Warcraft version
  • The expansion or achievement involved
  • What you were doing when the issue occurred
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Any Lua error that appeared
  • Steps that reproduce the problem

Screenshots can also be very useful where the issue is visual or relates to achievement progress.

The more detail you can provide, the easier it is to reproduce and investigate the problem.

Feature Requests

Use #feature-requests for ideas, improvements, or new functionality.

When suggesting a feature, it is helpful to explain:

  • what you are trying to achieve;
  • what problem the change would solve;
  • whether it relates to achievement coverage, tracking, display, settings, or another part of the addon.

Suggestions do not need to include a complete technical solution.

Beta Testing

Users with the Beta Tester role can access the Meta Hunter testing areas and beta builds.

When reporting an issue found while testing a beta version, please make it clear that you are using a beta build and include the version number where possible.

Beta builds may contain unfinished functionality and are intended for testing before a normal release.

Documentation Help

If something in the Meta Hunter documentation is unclear, incorrect, or missing, please let us know.

Include:

  • the Wiki page;
  • the section involved;
  • what you believe needs changing or explaining more clearly.

Documentation feedback is just as useful as addon bug reports.

Before Reporting a Problem

It may be worth checking FAQ & Troubleshooting first.

Common installation, expansion-module, minimap-button, tracking, and cached-progress issues are covered there.
