Den Den Mushi

The base creatures raised throughout the mod, and the source of every Transponder Snail — see Crafting.

Den Den Mushi

The base snail creature. Spawns naturally on land and in shallow water near beaches. Each one generates a unique body and shell color. Right-click one with an empty hand to pick it up as an item. Feed it kelp to breed a pair.

Baby Den Den Mushi

When two Den Den Mushi breed, the baby is picked up as its own dedicated item rather than a regular Den Den Mushi. It keeps its inherited coloring but cannot be crafted into a Transponder Snail — only adults can.

White Den Den Mushi

A rarer variant that leads into the White Transponder Snail line. Behaves like a normal Den Den Mushi (breeding, dyeing, pickup), and is required for crafting the White Transponder Snail.

Horned Den Den Mushi

A purely cosmetic variant with the same behavior and breeding as the base Den Den Mushi, distinguished by a set of horns on its shell.

Where to Find Them

• Den Den Mushi spawn naturally most any where on land, but more frequently around forests, jungles, and beaches.
• White Den Den Mushi spawn the same places as normal Den Den Mushi, but usually at a significantly lower chance
• Server owners can adjust Den Den Mushi spawn rates and locations — see Config.
