ronaldpedrosa edited this page Jul 3, 2026 · 3 revisions

This guide shows you how to record audio from BlackHole in Cubase. Once your audio source is routed to BlackHole, you can record it directly into a Cubase project for editing, mixing, or further production.

Before You Begin

This guide assumes that BlackHole has already been configured as the output device for the audio you want to record. For example, your web browser, media player, or another application should already be sending audio to BlackHole before you begin.

1. Select BlackHole as the Audio Driver

Open Cubase and select BlackHole 2ch as your Audio Driver.

2. Create or Open a Project

Click Create Empty Project or Choose File to resume on an existing project, and start recording. If you are already inside Cubase and want to reconfigure your Audio Driver, you may go to Cubase > Audio Settings.

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).
  2. Go to Privacy & SecurityMicrophone.
  3. Make sure Cubase is allowed to access the microphone.
