An individual stage can carry a rank: a prefix and/or suffix around the player's name, like
[Admin] Steve. It shows up in chat, in the tab list and on the name tag above the player's head.
- Open an individual stage in the editor (global stages can't have ranks).
- In the stage settings, find the Rank card.
- Fill in:
-
Prefix: text before the name,
&for colour codes, e.g.&4[Admin]&r - Suffix: text after the name, same format
- Priority: 0 to 1000, the highest one wins
-
Prefix: text before the name,
- Save the stage.
In the stage file it looks like this:
"addon_settings": {
"hstg_permissions:rank": {
"prefix": "&4[Admin]&r",
"priority": 10
}
}A player can have several role stages. Prefix and suffix are picked separately:
- The prefix comes from the stage with the highest priority that has a prefix.
- The suffix comes from the stage with the highest priority that has a suffix.
- On a tie, the stage whose ID comes first alphabetically wins.
So a role_donor stage with only a suffix &6★ and a role_admin stage with only a prefix can both
show at once.
| Where | Needs the addon on the client? |
|---|---|
| Chat (and anything else that uses the display name) | no |
| Tab list | no |
| Name tag | yes, only players with the addon see it |
Each of the three can be switched off in the config, see Configuration. Turn chat off if another mod already formats the chat.
Ranks update as soon as a player gains or loses a stage, temporary stages and team stages included.
