The Commands Tab

Flix100000 edited this page Oct 12, 2026 · 2 revisions

Every stage in the History Stages editor gets a Commands tab, for global and individual stages alike. You need operator rights (level 2) to use it, the same as the editor itself.

The list

One row per entry, written the way the stage file stores it. The mod part is grey (minecraft.gamemode.creative), and * gets a gold star. Rows keep the order you added them in.

  • Right-click a row to remove or copy it.
  • A yellow row means the command doesn't exist on this server. Usually a typo, or the mod isn't installed. The entry stays and starts working once the command exists.
  • A row in a warning colour points at something the entry can't do, for example a command on the protected list (see Protection). Hover it for the explanation.

Nothing is written until you save the stage, same as every other tab.

Adding entries

Click + to open the picker. When you open a stage, the server sends its full command list, so the picker also shows commands your own client has never seen.

  • ★ All commands at the top adds *.
  • Each mod has its own row with a command count. Clicking it adds mod.*.
  • Commands open up into their subcommands. Values the addon knows, like the game modes, are in italics.
  • Aliases show where they lead (tp → teleport) and count as the same command.
  • A gold ✓ marks an entry of this stage. A grey ✓ with a dashed line means the command is already covered by an entry above it, like minecraft.*.
  • Tick as many rows as you want, then click Add.

Search

Type in the search field to filter the tree. @ftbquests limits the tree to one mod. While you search, the mod and parent rows are only there for orientation and can't be ticked, so "select all" won't grab a whole mod by accident.

Typing a path yourself

If a command isn't in the tree (the mod is missing right now, say), type the path into the search field. A row Add: … appears. Spaces and a leading / count as dots, so /gamemode creative becomes gamemode.creative. If the editor finds the command, it puts the mod name in front for you. If not, the entry is added as typed and marked "not found".

Without the addon on the server

If the server doesn't have the addon, the picker stays empty and says so. You can still type paths, and nothing gets marked yellow, because the editor has no list to compare against.
