2.2.0

PluginBlueprint 2.2.0 lets you group nodes into subgraphs and adds a constant for single characters.

New

  • Subgraphs. Select some nodes and choose Convert to subgraph from a node's menu, or add graph → Subgraph from search. A subgraph keeps its nodes on their own canvas: double-click it to open it, and use ‹ Back to return. Subgraph Input and Subgraph Output nodes inside become the pins on the outside, and subgraphs can contain other subgraphs. Your plugin works exactly the same as before you grouped the nodes. Problems, Find, undo and build errors all reach nodes inside subgraphs. See Subgraphs.
  • Char constant. Double-click a char input, such as the & in ChatColor.translateAlternateColorCodes, to create a Char constant and type the character. Before, a char input needed a Number constant set to the character's code.

Changed

  • Importing a snippet now shows the Java code warning for Java code nodes inside subgraphs too.

Projects saved with 2.0 and 2.1 open and build the same as before. Once a project uses subgraphs, open it with 2.2.0 or newer: 2.1.0 warns that it was saved by a newer version, and saving it there would remove the subgraphs' contents.

PluginBlueprint is free and open source. If it helps you, you can pay what you want.

2.1.0

PluginBlueprint 2.1.0 makes nodes easier to find and adds a node for writing your own Java.

New

  • Search that finds what you mean. Double-click the canvas, or select the new Search button, and type a class name or a plain word such as "welcome", "chat", "give" or "variable". An exact class name comes first, and each result shows a short description and its package.
  • Lists you can filter. A node's Outputs menu and long value lists, such as Material constants, open a list you can type into instead of a menu with hundreds of entries. The node's own class comes first.
  • Java code node. Under code → Java code, write Java statements that run as part of your graph. Drop a link on the node to add a matching input or output, or add one from its menu and pick the type from a list. Compiler errors in your code point at the node. See Java code.
  • Snippet warning. Importing a snippet that contains Java code nodes shows their code and asks before adding them.

Changed

  • The help bar at the bottom stays until you have used the search once, and an empty canvas tells you to double-click.
  • MakeArray takes its element type from the first value you connect.
  • Opening a project saved with 2.0 no longer shows the "Different Editor Version" warning. It still appears for 1.x projects and for projects saved by a newer version.
  • Deprecated methods and fields no longer appear in search and menus. Graphs that use them still load.

Projects saved with 2.0 open and build the same as before.

2.0.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Oct 10:49

PluginBlueprint 2.0.1 is a security fix. Update if you open graphs, projects or snippets that other people made.

Fixed

  • Hidden code in shared files. A snippet, graph or project could set a node value, such as a number, a type or an enum constant, to Java code. That code then ran on your server without appearing on the canvas. Before every build, PluginBlueprint now checks each value that goes into your plugin's source. A bad value shows up as a problem on its node.
  • Update check. The app now asks pluginblueprint.net for the latest version instead of the GitHub API, so a shared network can no longer run into GitHub's rate limit.

Projects saved with 2.0.0 open and build the same as before.

PluginBlueprint is free and open source. If it helps you, you can pay what you want.

2.0.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 20:37

PluginBlueprint 2.0 builds plugins for Paper 26.3 on Java 25. It's the first release since 1.2.4 and adds commands, config files, and checks that explain problems before you build.

New in 2.0

  • Paper 26.3 and Java 25. New projects target Paper. The app uses a JDK 25 it finds on your system or offers to download one, then sets up the Paper test server for you.
  • Commands. A Command node per command, with typed arguments, aliases, a permission, a permission message and a players-only option.
  • Config files. A Config tab in Project Information, a config.yml in your plugin, and "Config value" and "Reload config" nodes.
  • Problems before you build. The editor checks your graph before every build and lists problems in plain language, with a badge on each affected node. If Java still fails, the error names the node it came from.
  • Editor. A toolbar with Save, Build & Reload, Test and Stop. Also autosave, Find (⌘F / Ctrl+F), undo for node moves, Note nodes, and working menus on macOS.
  • More nodes. Constants such as Sound and NamedTextColor values, event priority and "ignore cancelled", and a "Cancel event" node.
  • More plugin.yml fields. permissions, depend, loadbefore, libraries, website, authors and prefix.
  • Documentation. A new wiki with a getting-started guide, five example plugins, and pages on commands, config and fixing problems.

Upgrading from 1.x

  • When you open a Spigot project, the app offers to switch it to Paper. Nodes for methods that no longer exist in Paper 26.3 load as placeholders, and the build skips them. Run Check for problems (⌘⇧K / Ctrl+Shift+K) after the switch.
  • Builds now compile every .java file in your project's src/ folder and pack everything in resources/ into the jar.
  • The Debug option no longer needs a separate build. The test server turns debug output on when the option is checked.
  • The app no longer sends any analytics or crash reports. It checks GitHub Releases for updates.
