Installation and Upgrading
- Minecraft 1.10.2, Java 8, Forge
12.18.3.2511or a compatible later 1.10.2 build. -
Base Metals and OreSpawn. Current combined qualification used Base Metals
2.5.1.110021and OreSpawn4.1.2.110021: a tested pair, not a claim that every version is interchangeable. - basePower; add baseSteam and/or baseElectric for their equipment. Both expansions require basePower.
- The relevant external power mod for an optional converter.
Download basePower from its CurseForge project, ID 1780140, and use matching authorised companion files when available. Never put a -deobf, sources or Javadoc jar into an ordinary modpack.
The supported historical source is the released DrCyano 1.10.2 line. Unpublished intermediate Advantage ports are not a separate compatibility promise.
- Close Minecraft. Back up the whole world and configuration, keeping the original untouched.
- Make a disposable copy for the upgrade.
- Remove old Power, Steam and Electric Advantage jars. Install matching base replacements for the mods your world uses. Do not mix families or install both versions of one mod.
- Keep the required dependencies. Follow their migration instructions if also upgrading Base Metals or other world-content mods.
- Inspect several areas: inventories, fluid amounts, battery charge, directions, unfinished jobs, drills and helper parts.
- Save, stop Minecraft completely, reopen and inspect again. Retain the backup until satisfied.

Block/item paths are retained beneath new namespaces; old tile IDs have read aliases. Migration is intended to retain quantities and state, not replace machines with fresh empty ones. crude_oil and refined_oil fluid names remain unchanged.
Musket enchantments intentionally keep their steamadvantage:* keys because Forge 1.10 cannot remap those like block/item registries. The old Steam Advantage jar must still be removed.
An old .cfg is copied only when no corresponding base configuration exists. Originals are kept; existing base settings win. Additional Loot Tables imports retain inactive backups so both sets do not inject loot. OreSpawn profiles and explicit old settings remain user authority; conversion must not enable duplicate deposits.
Changed world headers have audit copies in basepower-migration-backups. They are not complete rollback backups. To roll back, restore the entire original world/config backup, not an old header beside converted chunks.
If owned content is reported missing, stop and retain logs and the failed copy. Do not accept air replacements or save over your only original. Report the problem.
Third-party integrations may need updates. Existing Iron Age Furniture plumbing detects the old provider ID; preserving the API alone does not make that check recognise basePower.
