Getting Started
Install basePower and dependencies first. Gather steel frames, iron plates, brass, governors and steam pipes. Keep fluid pipe for water separate from steam pipe for pressure.
- Place a coal boiler and supply water plus ordinary furnace fuel. Use a water bucket or basePower drain/fluid line.
- Connect brass steam pipe to a steam machine. A compatible machine touching the boiler can also connect directly.
- For a blast furnace, insert smeltable input and its own solid fuel. Steam assists heating; it does not replace that fuel.
- Begin with one load. Check water, fuel, steam and actual output before adding machines.

A full boiler gauge with no consumers proves storage, not sustained output. A low gauge under heavy load may mean consumption matches production. Shut off the load briefly to distinguish shortage from broken routing.
Connect a steam tank to store surplus. You do not need one every few pipes: pipes have no distance loss, and tanks do not increase pressure or generate steam.
Fit an unpowered steam switch when you want a conducting line; applying redstone disconnects it. Keep a small counted batch for first commissioning, then save and fully restart to check state retention.
