Installation And Upgrading

This manual covers Minecraft 1.10.2 and baseSteam 2.2.6.110021, used with basePower 2.4.4.110021. Install Java 8, compatible Forge, Base Metals and OreSpawn as described in the shared installation guide.

Download baseSteam and basePower from their new CurseForge projects. Use the main Forge 1.10.2 jars, not the sources, Javadoc or development jars.

basePower is required. baseElectric is optional for ordinary steam machinery, but supplies the electricity used by the electric boiler. Install matching base versions where both are used.

For an original released Cyano 1.10.2 world, remove the old Advantage jars and replace the family together. Do not keep Steam Advantage beside baseSteam. Back up the whole world/configuration, convert a copy, inspect it, then close the complete game/server process and check again.

Steam block/item paths move from steamadvantage: to basesteam: with legacy read mappings. Steam, inventory, temperature, fluid, facing and work state are intended to survive. The four musket enchantments deliberately retain their old steamadvantage:* registry keys for Forge 1.10 compatibility; this does not require the old jar.

config/basesteam.cfg imports the old .cfg only if no base configuration exists. Retain original backups. Restore a complete backup to roll back; do not mix old headers and converted chunks.
