Pumps and Elevators
Place the pump above the fluid with a clear downward shaft. It creates and manages its own pump-pipe helper. Connect steam and a fluid-output route with spare capacity.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Steam buffer | 300 |
| Internal fluid tank | 1,000 mB |
| Pipe-section cost | 5 steam |
| Vertical lift cost | 1 steam per unit |
| Collection base cost | 32 steam |
| Search batch / intervals | Up to 125 positions; 32/11 ticks |
The pump collects actual world sources; success is measured by source removal and stored output. An empty/blocked target is not proof of pumping. Fluid, extension, target and steam should survive restart. The current reader restores Tank, with old TankOut fallback; its previous empty-on-reload fault is repaired.
basesteam:pump_pipe_steam is a managed helper, not ordinary player pipework. Avoid removing helpers independently of their parent machine.
Build a clear vertical shaft above the controller. The generated platform stops two blocks below an obstruction/ceiling for passenger headroom. Maximum travel is 16 blocks; steam buffer 64, movement cost 32.
Choose direction in the GUI and use redstone to trigger movement. Prove up/down operation with a clear shaft before adding walls, doorways or passengers. Direction, energy and managed platform state should recover after reload.
basesteam:platform is the elevator's helper, not a separately crafted lift. Use safe access and a fall barrier when commissioning.
