Align on progress and priorities. This assessment helps guide and document an in-person conversation about how effectively existing products and data systems are supporting teaching.

This is completed by a designated facilitator during one or more in-person meetings with the team that participated in the inventory. You may want to invite others from your district or a trusted partner to join the conversation. You may also preview the assessment or save responses to return later. For each category, you may decide whether to respond at the high level or deep dive.

The purpose of the PD schema is to start and structure a conversation between district leads about how effectively their current products and systems enable effective PD. The schema is designed to cover baseline components of an effective system to help districts shape their own vision for PD and assess capacity.

The ultimate goal is to help move forward their vision for PD through open dialogue, so districts go from:

  • “Oh my gosh we have so much going on and none of it is aligned in a thoughtful way”

to:

  • “We would never buy a product that doesn't move vision forward. We establish the vision before we pick tech products, never in reverse”
