Seerr Setup

Seerr integration is optional. It lets you discover and request media without leaving your Roku, and it runs through the Moonfin server plugin rather than talking to Seerr directly.

Requirements

  • The Moonfin server plugin installed on your Jellyfin server.
  • A Seerr or Jellyseerr instance on your network, see seerr.dev.

Setup

  1. Install the Moonfin server plugin on your Jellyfin server and configure your Seerr or Jellyseerr URL in the plugin settings. The URL lives on the server, so there's nothing to type on the Roku.
  2. On your Roku, open Settings, then Moonfin Plugin, then Seerr, and turn on Enable Seerr.
  3. Sign in under Account & Sign In with your Jellyfin credentials.
  4. Start browsing and requesting.

Authentication saves a permanent local API key, so your session persists and reconnects automatically the next time you open the app.

What you get

Once connected, Seerr shows up throughout the app:

  • Browse trending, popular, and recommended movies and shows, with filters for genre, studio, network, and keyword.
  • Request in HD or 4K, with smart season selection when requesting a show.
  • A view of all your pending, approved, and available requests.
  • Home screen rows for trending, popular, upcoming, and your recent requests.
  • Seerr results folded into global search.
  • Rich backdrop images across the discovery screens.

Optional NSFW filtering

Moonfin can filter adult content out of Seerr browse and search results using the metadata Seerr and TMDB provide. The Block NSFW Content toggle lives alongside the rest of the Seerr settings, and it syncs with the server.

Troubleshooting

If authentication fails, confirm that the plugin is installed and that Seerr is configured in the plugin settings on the server. Everything goes through the plugin, so the Roku only needs to reach your Jellyfin server.

If requests submit but never appear, check that the Jellyfin user you signed in with is linked to a Seerr user with request permissions.
