Codex Pet & Usage Companion v0.9.0 — Pet Workshop 2.0
What's new
- Added row-by-row and frame-by-frame animation inspection with playback, stepping, and speed controls.
- Added native spritesheet QA for transparent frames, coverage, and edge-clipping risks.
- Added safe v1/v2 creator templates containing a transparent standard grid, starter
pet.json, and an offline guide. - Added unsaved-draft protection when switching pets, leaving Pet Workshop, or closing the panel.
- Made the pet library and Pet Workshop available without connecting a usage account first.
- Made ZIP replacement recoverable so a failed export does not destroy an existing package.
Safety and privacy
- Spritesheet inspection and template creation run locally.
- Pet packages remain under
.codex/pets; official client files are not modified. - Symlinked package directories are rejected, and no account, token, or usage data is included in exported templates.
- In-app updates remain signature-verified with the same updater key used by v0.8.1.
Verification
- 30 frontend tests passed.
- 10 regular Rust tests passed; 2 environment-dependent integration tests remain opt-in.
- TypeScript, Rust formatting, production web build, release binary, signed NSIS, and updater manifest generation passed.
- The Chinese 380×560 native workflow was visually checked across the pet library, animation inspector, QA warnings, creator template, and metadata form.
