Beta.8 is the current terminal-first release.

Highlights

• Bare axiom prints the command map and starts a loopback daemon on a free port.
• axiom daemon --json emits stable ready and stopped records for scripts.
• axiom guide, axiom summary, and axiom tools doctor make the first command path explicit.
• Model inspection, JSONL validation, hardware detection, and conservative run planning stay local.
• Headroom is available only as an explicit optional passthrough when its own CLI is already installed.
• Linux packaging validates archive layout and checksums before activation.

Verification boundary

Plans, hardware fit estimates, tool presence, and third-party optimization effects are not benchmark results. Verify the exact release workflow and published checksums before treating an asset as a release artifact.
