Manual Controls

Manual Controls are on the Dashboard. They are for jogging, homing, air assist, pausing, resuming, stopping, unlocking, and low-power test fire.
| Control | Use |

| Step | Jog distance in millimeters |
| Feedrate | Jog speed/feedrate |
| X/Y arrow pad | Jog in single-axis or diagonal moves |
| Center | Move to configured bed center |
| Home | Home all axes |
| Go To Preset | Move to the configured preset X/Y position |
| Unlock / Clear Alarm | Send unlock/clear alarm behavior |
| Air On / Air Off | Toggle air assist/pump commands |
| Pause | Feed hold/pause |
| Resume | Cycle start/resume |
| Stop Job | Stop/abort based on Job Control settings |
| Test Fire | Timed low-power laser test, if enabled |
- Check the Status card first.
- Confirm the laser is off.
- Use small jog steps near the edges.
- Keep your hand away from the machine while jogging.
- Do not use Test Fire unless eye/fire safety is ready.
Stop behavior depends on Settings > Job Control. The normal safe behavior is:
- Send laser off.
- Abort/reset the job if soft reset stop is allowed.
- Refresh status.
If Stop is set to hold-only, it behaves more like Pause.

|---|---|
| Jog does not move | Ray5 may be offline, alarmed, or locked |
| Home fails | Machine may need unlock or homing support may differ |
| Air buttons do nothing | Confirm your Ray5 pump/air control responds to M8/M9 |
| Pause/Resume response looks odd | GRBL real-time commands may not return normal ok text |
| Stop is disabled or weak | Check Job Control settings |
| Test Fire disabled | Enable it in Settings > Safety |
