Timelapse
Ray5 Pilot can capture snapshots during a job and build an MP4 timelapse.
| Control | Use |
|---|---|
| Start Timelapse | Manually start timelapse capture |
| Stop Timelapse | Stop capture and build/save video |
| Refresh | Reload saved timelapse list |
| Select All | Select saved videos |
| Delete Selected | Delete selected videos |
| Recoverable Sessions | Rebuild video from preserved frames if a build failed |
When timelapse is enabled in Settings, Upload + Run and SD Start can arm timelapse automatically.
Normal state behavior:
- Run starts capture.
- Hold pauses capture.
- Run resumes capture.
- Idle stops and saves.
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Enable timelapse | Turns timelapse support on/off |
| Snapshot interval | Seconds between captured frames |
| Final frame delay | Wait after job ends before final frame |
| Playback FPS | Speed of the final MP4 |
| Image source | Processed overlay or raw camera frame |
- Processed overlay is best when you want the timelapse to match the calibrated bed view.
- Raw camera frame is best when you want the full camera view.
When the live preview is active, timelapse capture can use the latest live preview frame first. This reduces extra camera/RTSP connections during a job. If no fresh live frame is available, Ray5 Pilot falls back to the configured camera capture method.
Processed timelapse frames use the same overlay processing path used by normal processed snapshots. Raw timelapse frames preserve the camera frame without overlay correction.
If Ray5 Pilot exits or the video build fails, captured frames may remain as a recoverable session. Use Recover to build the MP4 from those frames.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Timelapse will not start | Enable timelapse and verify camera works |
| Timelapse blocked by lockout | Clear lockout only after checking the machine |
| Video is too fast | Lower Playback FPS or capture more frames |
| Video is too slow | Raise Playback FPS or increase snapshot interval |
| No final parked-head shot | Increase Final frame delay |
| Saved video missing | Check recoverable sessions |
| Wrong view captured | Change image source in Settings |
