The SD Card Files card lists files stored on the Ray5 SD card and provides actions for starting, framing, downloading, deleting, and refreshing files.
- Make sure the Status card shows the Ray5 is reachable.
- Click Refresh on the SD Card Files card.
- Select the file you want.
- Use the available action.
| Action | Use |
|---|---|
| Refresh | Reload the SD file list |
| Start | Start the selected file from the Ray5 SD card |
| Frame | Frame the selected file using parsed bounds |
| Download | Download a file from the SD card if enabled |
| Delete | Delete a file from the SD card if enabled |
| Preview | Show preview only if supported by the Ray5 API/firmware |
Ray5 Pilot may pause SD auto-refresh while the machine is busy, uploading, running, holding, jogging, in door state, or in communication-loss safety lockout.
This is intentional. It avoids hammering the Ray5 SD API while the controller is busy.
Use SD Start when the file is already on the Ray5 SD card and you want the Ray5 to run it directly.
This is usually smoother than live streaming large jobs.
| Problem | Check |
|---|---|
| SD list is blank | Ray5 reachable, SD inserted, SD API working |
| SD refresh pauses | Machine may be busy or in safety lockout |
| Start button disabled | Start actions may be disabled in Settings |
| Delete missing | Delete actions may be disabled in Settings |
| File name looks shortened | Auto-shorten upload option may be enabled |
| Preview unavailable | Ray5 firmware/API may not support preview |
| File exists on screen but not in Ray5 Pilot | Click Refresh after Ray5 is idle |
