Creating a database for a new city has moved 📦
Onboarding a city now lives in the Project Sidewalk repository, next to the tooling that does it — the streets and
regions are built by make build-city-data, the schema, configs, evolutions, fill, imagery scan, and dump by
make onboard-city — so the guide stays in step with the scripts and is reviewed with them:
It covers the whole sequence from open data to a server-ready dump, the QA loop in QGIS, what still needs a person
(translations, the config row, visual QA, the server handoff), and the optional pano-scraper and uptime-monitor
setup this page used to describe.
The manual QGIS procedure this page held is superseded by that tooling. Its last full revision is kept in this page's
history for reference: revision fdd8da7.
