PassportJS

PassportJS was the authentication middle-ware that was used that was used to authorize users using Spotify. PassportJS was chosen, as it was simple and also allowed our endpoints to be authenticated so that only logged in users could access them.

PassportJS was also easy to mock when testing, if the environment was in testing mode, then a mocked strategy would be used instead of the SpotifyStrategy, this is so we could access authenticated endpoints as if we were actually authenticated, instead of logging in through OAuth.
