Settings → Open data folder and Open logs folder open them directly.
When reporting a problem, today's homebase.log usually has the answer.
The controller does nothing. Check Settings → Input devices; it lists every controller Homebase sees. If it isn't there, reconnect it or try a cable. Homebase only reacts to menu buttons while it is in front; press Home to bring it forward.
The pointer moves twice as far, or clicks happen twice (desktop mode). Steam's Desktop Layout is also turning the controller into a mouse. Turn it off in Steam (Settings → Controller → Desktop Layout), or turn off Settings → Controller as mouse outside apps in Homebase.
A game reacts to the stick as a mouse and a controller at once. Set it back to Controller: Native in its options, or click the left stick to turn the pointer off.
Nothing happens in a full-screen program. Full-screen programs Homebase didn't start are left alone. Start it from Homebase, or press Home to go back.
Windows security prompts (UAC) don't respond. They run on a secure desktop that no program can send input to. Use a mouse or keyboard for those.
The buttons do the wrong thing. Settings → Controller buttons → Reset to defaults, or Settings → Reset bindings for the whole map.
An app says it "didn't appear". The app took longer than expected to open a window. It usually still opens; select it again to switch to it.
The pointer doesn't move in an app. The app has to be in front; press Start → back to the app. Clicking the left stick turns the pointer on and off.
The keyboard doesn't pop up. Some programs don't report text boxes to Windows. Press View to open the keyboard manually. See On-Screen Keyboard.
A web app isn't signed in. Adult profiles use your normal browser; sign in there once. Child profiles and Separate browser for apps use their own browser profile, so sign in inside the app window.
I can't get out of an app. Press Start → Close app, or Home to go back to Homebase with the app still running.
A game is missing. Run Settings → Scan for games. Steam games must be installed in a Steam library folder. Hidden games show again with Settings → Show hidden games.
Artwork is missing or blank. Steam artwork downloads once per game; offline games use their icon until then. You can always pick your own image with Start → Choose artwork.
The layout looks wrong after moving between monitors. Use Settings → Show on display or Win+Shift+Arrow to move Homebase between screens. Some window tools that move windows programmatically can confuse the UI toolkit; restarting Homebase fixes it.
A newer Homebase-Setup.msi replaces the installed copy and keeps your data.
Uninstall from Settings → Apps in Windows; your data folder is left in
place in case you reinstall. Delete it by hand for a clean slate.
