v0.3.4
Full Changelog: v0.3.3...v0.3.4
v0.3.3
v0.3.2
v0.3.1 — certified by Apple, adaptive remarks
Notarized builds 🪿✅
The mac apps are now notarized and stapled by Apple — they open on any Mac with no Gatekeeper warnings. No more right-click-Open.
Adaptive real-time remarks
The goose now comments on your actual system state: how long you've been in the frontmost app, battery, uptime, cursor mileage, tabs it closed for you, day and time, its own mood. The static phrase pool stays in rotation alongside.
Control panel
- New Restart goose button (flushes unsaved edits first; installs a downloaded update if one is staged).
Fixes (pre-release review, 9 confirmed)
- Remark picker could freeze the goose permanently on quiet systems
- Phrase-pool migration no longer re-runs and resurrects deleted phrases
- No Automation permission prompt when focus enforcement is off
- Focus-enforcement toggle now respected on Windows
- Dwell/session remarks no longer count hours the Mac spent asleep
- Restart no longer races a staged auto-update
{time}token substitutes every occurrence
Auto-update: existing 0.3.0 installs pick this up automatically.
Entitled Goose v0.3.0 — the goose updates itself
Entitled Goose v0.3.0 — the goose updates itself
This is the last version you download by hand: auto-update is here. The app checks GitHub on launch and every 6 hours, downloads silently, and the goose tells you: "a newer, better me exists. restart me when you're ready to be honked at more efficiently." One click in the control panel installs it.
New
- Auto-update (macOS signed builds; Windows beta) with an Updates row in the control panel
- Shush for an hour — panel button and tray item. Total quiet; tabs still get closed, just wordlessly. A dying battery is the only thing that revokes it.
- Phone suspicion — idle mouse for a few daytime minutes and the goose knows: "you're on your phone, aren't you. the computer is RIGHT HERE."
- Multi-display support — the goose follows your cursor across monitors, sprinting in after you.
- Control panel restyled to match the landing page; bundled fonts.
- The landing-page goose is interactive: its neck follows your cursor; click it to honk.
Install (macOS)
Download the DMG and drag to Applications. The app is Developer-ID signed but not yet notarized, so on another Mac Gatekeeper will say it "cannot verify" the app. To open it the first time: try to open the app, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the blocked-app message, and click Open Anyway (macOS Sequoia removed the old right-click trick). This is needed only once — afterwards, updates install themselves in place with no prompts. Windows installer is beta/untested.

Entitled Goose v0.2.2 — the blocklist is yours
Entitled Goose v0.2.2 — the blocklist is yours
- Customizable blocklist in the control panel: edit blocked websites (domains, one per line) and blocked apps right in the panel — changes save automatically and apply to the goose immediately. (Double-click the goose to open the panel.)
- amazon.com joins the default blocklist. Existing installs receive it via a one-time migration.
- Hardened input handling: pasted URLs sanitize to bare domains, half-typed lines are ignored until they look like a real domain, and the Firefox/Windows title-matching fallback derives conservative keywords that can't collide with benign window titles.
Install (macOS)
Download the DMG, drag to Applications, right-click → Open (signed, not notarized). Windows installer is beta/untested.

Entitled Goose v0.2.1 — the goose composes itself
Entitled Goose v0.2.1 — the goose composes itself
Animation
- New neck: single elastic curve (ported from the landing page's interactive goose) — smooth at every angle, stretches naturally, tucks properly in sleep. 20% shorter overall.
- Beak rework: shared hinge, no overlapping mandibles, bounded mouth interior.
- Stability: full-frame clearing (the residue/smear bugs are structurally gone), pose sanitizers, ~1% CPU.
Features
- Energy slider in the control panel: high = fast and restless, low = slow and sleepy.
- Double-click the goose to open the control panel (the 🪿 menu-bar item still works).
- Battery warnings delivered at the macOS battery icon; enforcement pecks the active tab's actual close button.
- Control panel restyled; fonts bundled (no network needed).
Install (macOS)
Download the DMG, drag to Applications, right-click → Open (signed, not notarized). Windows installer is beta/untested.

Entitled Goose v0.2.0 — the goose is aware
Entitled Goose v0.2.0 — the goose is now aware
The goose knows the time, your machine's state, and when you leave. It has opinions.
New: environmental awareness
- Knows the clock — sleeps through the night, judges you at 2am ("even geese sleep. this is unwell."), greets you by time of day
- Battery watch — "your battery is at 12%. charge it. I live here." Escalates to a full honk at 5%.
- Notices your absence — leave and come back: "you were gone 23 minutes. I counted."
- Wake/unlock greetings, unplug commentary, dark-mode remarks, and sympathy (of a sort) when your CPU is wheezing
- Unsolicited status reports — time, battery, machine health, and its own emotional state (unappreciated)
Also since v0.1.0
- Space-switch chase: swap desktops and the goose sprints in after you — it never disappears, including over fullscreen apps
- Drag-to-play: pick the goose up (hold + move); it dangles, sways, and does not thank you
- Kink-free neck at extreme reach angles
- Enforcement choreography: walks to the window's close button and pecks it as the tab closes
- Direct-download links with stable artifact names
Install (macOS)
Download the DMG (Apple Silicon or Intel), drag to Applications, right-click → Open (signed, not yet notarized). Everything lives in the 🪿 menu-bar icon.
Not affiliated with House House, Panic, or samperson. MIT licensed.
Late additions in this build
- 120fps rendering (max, adjustable 30/60/120 in the control panel)
- Static full-screen overlay renderer — window-move jitter is gone for good (and CPU dropped to ~1.6%)
- Awareness toggles in the control panel: battery / time & absences / status reports / calendar
- Calendar reminders (optional): "'standup' in 10 minutes. go be a person."
- The enforcement peck now aims at the active tab's actual close button
- Space-switch sprint always chases toward your cursor
Entitled Goose v0.1.0
Entitled Goose v0.1.0 — first public release
A desktop pet goose that owns your desktop. Original flat-vector art and synthesized audio, drawn entirely in code.
Highlights
- Procedurally animated goose: waddle gait with pinned feet, elastic FABRIK neck, head-stabilized walk, keyframed honks
- Entitlement Meter: content → miffed → indignant → wrath; honks escalate while you ignore it
- Focus enforcement: spots YouTube / Instagram / Netflix / TikTok (and friends), walks to the window's close button, honks twice, pecks — tab closed. Blocklist is user-editable.
- Speech bubble with passive-aggressive phrases (user-editable pool)
- Judgmental stare, sleep loafing, poke/pet interactions, grudge memory across launches
- Control panel: live mood meter, mute, polite mode, size slider, phrase editor
- Transparent click-through overlay with a failsafe — it never blocks real work
Install (macOS)
- Download the DMG for your Mac: arm64 (Apple Silicon) or x64 (Intel)
- Drag Entitled Goose to Applications and open it
- The app is Developer-ID signed but not yet notarized — on first open, right-click the app → Open → Open
- Everything lives in the 🪿 menu-bar icon
Focus enforcement will ask for Automation permission on first use (macOS prompt). Deny it and the goose will passive-aggressively tell you to fix it.
Windows
Windows support is in the codebase (PowerShell focus backend, tray icon) but this release ships untested Windows binaries — treat as beta. Feedback welcome.
