Admin Guide

The admin panel is at /admin, and opens on Shop Analytics. An account becomes an administrator when its e-mail is in the server's ADMIN_EMAILS setting; the role is applied the next time it signs in.

Every list in the panel has search, filters, sorting, paging and a Refresh button. The logo at the top left goes back to the shop.

Shop analytics

Choose the period at the top. Each figure is shown against the period just before it. The page is live: it fetches the figures again every minute while it is open, and when you come back to the tab, so the charts and the sentences in Worth knowing follow the shop as it changes. The time under the heading says when they were last updated; Refresh now fetches them at once.

  • Sales are book totals, without delivery. Fees earned are the shop's 5% on books delivered and not returned; the figure under it is the fee on books still on their way.
  • Sales over time switches between sales, orders, new members and new listings. Show the numbers gives the same figures as a table.
  • Busy hours shades each weekday and hour by how many orders came in, Dhaka time. Point at a square for its count.
  • Worth knowing puts the main points into sentences: the busiest time, the best-selling category, searches that found nothing, and the most-wanted book.
  • Searches that found nothing and the Wanted board card show books people want that nobody sells: worth telling sellers about.

Orders

Track The Order on any order opens its admin page. From there you can:

  • move it to any stage. Sellers can only go as far as Shipped, so Out for Delivery and Delivered are always set here;
  • cancel it at any point before delivery, with a reason. Every book still in it is cancelled, the stock goes back on sale, and the buyer and sellers are told why.

Cancelled books stay in the order struck through, and are left out of every total.

Download PDF on the order's page saves the full record, and the Copy button beside the order number copies it.

Returns

Open the photos with View, then Approve or Reject. The buyer and the seller are both notified.

On approval the buyer is e-mailed where to send the book. Refund the book's price to the bKash number shown, within 15 working days of it arriving. An approved return is never paid out to the seller.

Seller payouts

Tab Means
To pay Delivered, the 7-day return window has closed, and no return is open
In return window Delivered, but the buyer can still ask for a return. Shows the date each becomes payable.
Paid Paid, with the date and bKash transaction ID

To pay a seller, send the amount shown (the books' price minus 5%) to their bKash merchant number. Then enter the bKash TrxID and choose Mark paid. The seller is notified. A seller with no merchant number cannot be marked paid until they add one.

Reviews

Both review pages have two tabs: Book reviews and Seller ratings. A notification about a reported seller rating opens the second.

Reporting hides nothing: a reported review stays up and keeps counting towards the book's or the seller's score until you decide.

  • Remove the review if it breaks the rules. It stops counting towards the score.
  • It is fine — clear the reports (in Reported Reviews) to leave it up and empty its reports.

Messages

Messages sends something from the shop:

  1. Send as a notification (in the bell), an e-mail in the shop's design, or both.
  2. To everyone, buyers, sellers, or chosen people (find them by name or e-mail and add them). Administrators are never among the recipients. Sellers are accounts with a bKash merchant number; buyers are the rest.
  3. Write a title and message. A blank line starts a new paragraph in the e-mail. Optionally add a link to a page on the site, such as /filter?deals=1.
  4. The page says how many people it reaches. Press Send, then confirm.

Each message is recorded in the audit log. E-mails to a large group take a while, and Gmail limits how many the shop can send in a day.

Notifications

Administrators are notified of new orders, cancellations, return requests and reported reviews. The admin panel itself has no bell; use the one in the shop's header, or /notifications.
