Seller Guide
Any account can sell. Listing is free; the shop keeps 5% of the books' price when they sell.
- Open your Profile and switch to Seller at the top.
- Add your bKash merchant number (Update Profile → bKash). Sales are paid to it, so a book cannot be listed without one.
- Optionally add a seller banner and profile picture. They appear on your shop page.
Profile → Seller Profile → Add Book (/add-book):
- Title, author, publisher, ISBN, language, page count
- New or used, and its condition
- One or more categories, from about a hundred subjects
- Price in taka, and how many copies you have
- Up to 10 photos. Clear photos sell fastest.
Before you list, look at the Wanted board: these are books people have asked for that nobody sells yet. Have it? List it opens the listing form with the details filled in. When a listing matches a request, everyone who asked is told straight away, with the link.
Each of your books shows its views and how many wishlists it is on, so you can see which ones people are watching.
Every seller has a public page at /shop/<your username>. It shows your banner,
picture, your seller rating, books listed, books in stock, copies sold, the
average rating of your books, and all your books with search and sorting. Buyers reach it from your name on any of
your books.
Book List (Profile → Seller Profile) lists every listing. Change prices or stock there and save them all at once.
A discount is either a percentage or an amount of taka off, up to 90%. It applies straight away and puts the book in Quick deals on the homepage. Buyers see the sale price with the old price struck through. Everyone with the book in their cart or wishlist is told when its price falls below what they saw.
- You get a notification when a book drops to five or fewer copies, and again when it sells out.
- When a book is sold out, buyers can choose Notify me when it is back. You are told each time someone asks, and the Book List shows how many buyers are waiting beside its stock.
- Add copies and everyone waiting is told it is back.
A sold-out book stays in buyers' carts marked sold out, and comes back to life when you restock.
You are notified, and e-mailed, the moment someone orders one of your books. Profile → Seller Profile → Order List lists them, with a status filter and sorting. If the buyer left a note at checkout, it is shown on the order.
Download PDF on an order's page saves a slip of your books in it: the buyer, the delivery area, and what you will be paid. The Copy button copies the order number.
Open an order to move your books along:

Once an order is past Shipped, it is out of your hands: the shop updates it until it is delivered, and you are notified of each step. You get an e-mail when it is delivered, with the date your payment becomes due.
If an order contains other sellers' books, you only see and move your own.
You can cancel your books in an order until they are shipped, for example if a copy turns out to be damaged. Give a reason; the buyer is told, and you both get an e-mail. The stock goes back on sale.
If a buyer asks to return one of your books, you get a notification and an e-mail with what they say is wrong. BookStoreBD decides, from their photos, and your payment for those books waits until then.
You are paid once the buyer can no longer return the book:
- The order is delivered.
- The 7-day return window closes with no return pending or approved.
- The shop sends the books' price minus 5% to your bKash merchant number, and records the bKash transaction ID.
Delivery charges are not part of your payout or the fee. The Order List shows where each payment stands: awaiting delivery, payable from a date, on hold for a return, due, or paid with its transaction ID. When it is paid you get a notification and an e-mail with the amount, the fee and the bKash transaction ID. You can turn the e-mail off under Notifications → Payouts on your profile.
You are notified when a buyer reviews your book or rates you as a seller. You can reply to a book review on the book page, and to a rating of you in Seller ratings on your shop page. Only buyers who have ordered from you can rate you, and you cannot rate yourself. If a review or rating breaks the rules, Report it and an administrator will look at it.
Buyers can message you from your books or your shop page; answer them in Chat.
