Smithing

Some changes and additions have been made to smithing.

Upgrading Netherite Weapons and Armor

Once swords, axes, spears, and armor are upgraded to Netherite, they can now be upgraded further. These upgrades provide incremental stat and durability increases and are meant as additional endgame progression.

Cost to Upgrade:

• Level 2: 1 Netherite Upgrade Template and 1 Nether Star
• Level 3: 1 Netherite Upgrade Template and 1 Conduit
• Level 4: 1 Netherite Upgrade Template and 1 Enchanted Golden Apple
• Level 5: 1 Netherite Upgrade Template and 1 Heavy Core

Netherite Weapons: Each upgrade increases Durability by 100 and Damage by 0.25

Netherite Armor: Each upgrade increases Armor Toughness by 0.125

• Netherite Helmet: Each upgrade increases Durability by 11
• Netherite Chestplate: Each upgrade increases Durability by 16
• Netherite Leggings: Each upgrade increases Durability by 15
• Netherite Boots: Each upgrade increases Durability by 13

Note that additional levels are preserved on the input item and lost on the sacrifice item in an anvil.

Applying Armor Trims

Applying armor trims no longer consumes the trim template, but upgrades using a Netherite Upgrade Template still consumes the template.
