Learner Guide
Fluenough is a drilling app for the basics of a language: words, saying them, hearing them and a little grammar. Each answer you give decides when that word comes back. It runs offline once a language's decks are downloaded. There is no account.
This guide says what you see and what to do. It does not cover how the app is built: for that see Architecture.
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Today | The day's lesson, the words due, quick revision and a fact of the day. |
| Decks | Your courses, their paths, units and decks. |
| Progress | Reviews, what you remember, your streak. |
| Settings | Languages, activities, look, backups, updates and more. |
- Getting started: install, first run, choosing a course, the placement test.
- Today and daily lessons: what to do each day.
- Drills and skills: the kinds of question, how answers are marked, how words come back.
- Courses and paths: courses, units, decks, downloading a language.
- Scripts and readings: learning an alphabet, and the Latin-letter readings.
- Readings and ISO 15919: how words are spelled in Latin letters.
- Speaking and listening: voices, the microphone, offline limits.
- Progress and stats: what the numbers mean.
- Profiles and settings: what each setting does.
- Backup and restore: keep your progress safe.
- Reporting a problem: ask for help, report a bug, suggest an idea.
Some features are built into the screens but not switched on in a version. They are shown dimmed, with a "Feature incoming" badge, and tapping them says "Feature incoming. Not in this version yet." This is on purpose (ADR-0008). The Roadmap says what is coming and when.
The app makes text bigger up to 1.4 times the normal size (#505). If your phone is set larger, the app is drawn at 1.4 times. Card text can be made larger on its own: see Profiles and settings.
