WinSpeed is a free, open-source internet speed meter for Windows 10 and 11. It sits on the taskbar next to the clock and shows your live download and upload speed. It also keeps a data-usage history, runs speed tests and warns you before you hit a data cap.

| Installation | Installer or portable zip, SmartScreen, updating and uninstalling. |
| Getting started | The first five minutes: the meter, the menu and the main window. |
| The taskbar meter | What to show, layout, labels, fonts, colours, position and behaviour. |
| Units explained | KB/s or Mbps? 1024 or 1000? Which to pick and why. |
| Speed test | Measure download, upload, ping and jitter; history and CSV export. |
| Data usage & history | Usage by hour, day, month or year and per adapter; drill-down and CSV export. |
| Data limits & alerts | Monthly and daily caps, billing cycle and notifications. |
| Connection monitoring | Latency, offline detection, public IP and privacy mode. |
| Network adapters | Choose which adapters are counted (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN…). |
| Settings reference | Every option, including the settings.ini keys. |
| Command line | Switches, shortcuts and scheduled speed tests. |
| Portable mode | Run from a USB stick and keep everything in one folder. |
| Privacy | What WinSpeed stores and what (if anything) goes online. |
| Troubleshooting & FAQ | The meter is hidden, speeds look wrong, and other common questions. |
