Final Milestone Plan
The goal of the final milestone is to extend the NEPH (Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Hub) MVP into a more advanced, realistic, and operational disaster coordination platform. While the MVP focuses on delivering core functionality and end-to-end flows, this phase aims to enhance real-time interaction, communication, intelligent coordination, and system scalability.
By the end of the final milestone, the system should support advanced features such as real-time tracking, notifications, communication between users, administrative control, and analytical insights, making the platform significantly more practical for real-world scenarios.
The final milestone expands the MVP with advanced capabilities across both clients and backend systems:
- Android application with real-time features, communication, and smarter coordination
- Web application with administrative tools, analytics, and control interfaces
- Backend and infrastructure extended to support real-time updates, notifications, and advanced logic
Unlike the MVP, this phase focuses on improving system intelligence, responsiveness, and usability rather than only ensuring basic functionality.
By the end of the final milestone, the following scenarios should be supported:
- Users receive real-time notifications about requests, assignments, and updates
- Users can communicate directly within the platform
- The system displays live map data and real-time activity
- The system performs smarter matching between requests and volunteers
- Administrators monitor and control assignments via the web interface
- The system provides analytics and insights about usage and coordination
