Full detail, including the exact mixin targets, on Connections.
The connections are driven by vanilla block tags, not by hardcoded block lists. That means a modded fence connects to a modded wall without Better Connections knowing either mod exists.
See Connections and Compatibility.
This mod is AGPL-3.0-only, and it is a port. The licensing has a documented complication you should read about — see Credits and License.
Better Connections is by Stalking Dragons, licensed AGPL-3.0-only. It is a NeoForge port of BetterWalls by Lemonnik6484 and JX_Snack, extended with extra block/tag compatibility. See Credits and License.
