Compatibility

Applies to Mystical Realms Modpack Fixes 2.0.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).

Loaders

Loader Supported
NeoForge 21.1.249+ Yes
Fabric No
Forge No

Minecraft must be exactly 1.21.1 — the declared version range is not open.

Dependencies

None required. Every patched mod is optional:

Mod Type Range Side
Iris optional 1.8.0+ client
Sodium optional 0.8.0+ client
Better Villager Animations optional 1.0.0+ client
Better Party optional 1.0.0+ server

These are declarations of interest, not gates. If a mod is absent, its patch does nothing.

One gap worth knowing: Dangerous NeoForge is not declared as a dependency at all, even though the mod patches it and ships a config toggle for it. It still works — the patch targets it softly — but the loader will not tell you if you uninstall it.

Several mods are discussed in the source as the root cause of the problems being fixed — Apotheosis, Apothic Attributes, Aquamirae, Supplementaries, Xaero's World Map — but this mod neither patches nor depends on them.

Client and server

Both work, and an asymmetric install is fine. The mod sends no packets, so a server-only or client-only install is coherent: whichever side you install it on gets that side's patches, and nothing is broken.

Patches by side:

Side Patches
Client Iris/Sodium crash fix, malformed names, log filter, Nether portals, NaN guard, Spanish villager dialogue
Server Malformed names, log filter, Nether portals, Better Party guard, NaN guard, Dangerous NeoForge boss health

Multiplayer

Everything is per-entity or per-player and runs on whichever side owns the logic. Nothing is synchronised, so there is no cross-client state to go out of step.

The Better Party guard specifically protects every player on the server at once, since the crash it prevents takes the whole instance down mid-tick.

Dedicated servers

Supported, and the patches that matter most for a dedicated server are the Better Party crash guard and the NaN health guard — both prevent a full server crash. If you run a public server, installing this server-side is cheap insurance even if you are not running any of the patched mods.

Known limitations

Two of the patches are bandages, not root-cause fixes, and the mod says so in its own code:

  • The Better Party guard does not fix whatever corrupted the player's maximum-health attribute. It only stops that corruption from taking the server down.
  • The NaN guard hardens vanilla against bad values. It does not patch the mod that produced them.

Other limitations:

  • The Nether portal memory is not saved. It lives in memory only, so it resets on server restart.
  • The Iris/Sodium fix permanently disables one Iris optimisation — its fog-occlusion tweak no longer applies. Nothing else is affected.
  • The Spanish villager dialogue needs an external resource pack. The translation table is read from assets/bettervillageranimations/dialogue/es_es.json, which this mod does not ship. Without that pack the overlay does nothing, silently, even when the mod and es_es language are both present.
  • Old Forge attribute ids are not recovered. A ninth class that would remap them is compiled into the JAR but deliberately never applied, because NeoForge's mixin processor could not resolve the obfuscation mapping for the target. The warning is silenced; the values are dropped.
  • The startup log reports the wrong version (1.3.0 instead of 2.0.0) because of a stale constant in the mod. Cosmetic, but misleading when you are checking an install.
  • Only the Better Party patch logs a line confirming it applied. The Dangerous NeoForge and Better Villager Animations patches log nothing at normal level, so confirming they are active needs debug logging.

In-game text

This mod has no translation files at all and no translatable text. Its only player-facing strings are log messages, which are English by design. It will never gain an es_es language file, and there is nothing for a translator to translate.

Provenance

The patches were developed against a specific modpack instance and validated there. The mod is usable anywhere, but that is where it was tested.
