Getting Started

Applies to Mystical Realms Modpack Fixes 2.0.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).

Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.249 or newer
Java 21
Required mods none

Install it like any other mod. There is nothing to configure to get it working — every patch is either always on or self-disabling.

Which side needs it

Setup Result
Server and all clients Everything works.
Server only The four server-relevant patches still work. The client-side ones do nothing.
Clients only The client-side patches work. The server ones do nothing.

This works because the mod sends no network packets at all. It adds nothing to the network surface, so an asymmetric install is coherent and clients without it are unaffected.

The server-relevant patches are the Nether portal fix, the Better Party crash guard, the NaN health guard and the Dangerous NeoForge boss health fix. The Iris/Sodium crash fix and the Spanish villager dialogue overlay need the mod on the client.

What you are installing

A mod with no gameplay content. It registers no items, blocks, entities, recipes, advancements, sounds, particles or loot tables, and it has no in-game configuration screen. It is not in any creative tab because it has nothing to put there.

What it does change, all of it invisible until something goes wrong:

  • A client crash that never happens.
  • Log spam that never appears.
  • Portal trips that arrive where you meant.
  • Entities that no longer get stuck in a corrupted state.
  • Bosses whose health no longer inflate without bound.
  • Spanish villager dialogue, if you have the resource pack that supplies the translations.

Checking that a patch applied

Most patches log a line when they do something. The ones that log on every application are the Better Party crash guard and the malformed-name fallback. The others only speak when they actually change something, mostly at debug log level.

The startup line reports the mod version, but note that it currently reports 1.3.0 rather than 2.0.0 — that is a bug in the mod's own version constant, not in your install.

For server owners

Install it server-side even if you are not running any of the patched mods. Two of its patches are hard server-crash guards — the Better Party one in particular prevents a single corrupted player attribute from taking the whole server down — and they cost nothing when there is nothing to fix.
