Compatibility
Applies to Player Activity View 0.0.0-beta.4 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge), and to the stable 26.x lines.
| Loader | Minecraft | Supported |
|---|---|---|
| NeoForge | 1.21.1 | Yes — 21.1.249+ |
| NeoForge | 26.1.2 | Yes — 26.1.2.78+ |
| NeoForge | 26.2 | Yes — 26.2.0.57+ |
| Fabric | 26.2 | Yes — 0.19.3+ |
| Fabric | 1.21.1, 26.1.2 | No |
Java 21 is required for all builds.
None. No required mods, no libraries, no CoroUtil — the dependency on WATUT's original helper mod was removed in the rewrite.
The 26.x lines are stable releases. 1.21.1 is the development line and is in beta, currently
0.0.0-beta.4.
The Fabric 26.2 build trails its NeoForge counterpart: 1.0.1 against 1.1.0. The Fabric build is
usable but is not feature-identical to the current NeoForge build.
The mod ships its own GLSL shaders — a particle shader and a three-pass separable blur used for the mirror panel's soft edge. That is what gives the crop its anti-aliased look instead of a hard jagged circle.
Consequences:
- It renders correctly with or without a shaderpack enabled.
- Shaderpack authors should note that it registers its own shader programs. It does not replace or conflict with vanilla programs, but a very strict shaderpack can affect how its particles appear.
- Turning shaders off entirely disables the mod's blur; the mirror still renders, just with a harder edge.
The mod has an en_us translation file with 34 keys, covering the config screen labels and item
group. Those keys can be translated by any resource pack.
There is no bundled translation for other languages — an es_es or other locale would come from a
resource pack, in the usual way.
The expensive part is the mirror panel, not the rest:
- Idle detection, typing indicators and tab-list markers are essentially free.
- Arm animations are cheap — a pose change on a nearby player model.
- The GUI mirror is the cost. Capturing and uploading a screen image is real work, which is why it is rate-limited and range-limited by default.
If you are running this on a server and see frame or network issues, the first thing to raise is
dynamicGuiTickSendRateOfGUIUpdates, or to enable dynamicGuiDontSendConstantGUIUpdates if it is
off. Turning dynamicGuiDisableBackgroundRendering off makes the panel look better and costs
noticeably more.
particleSizeScale also matters: the render cost scales with the panel's area, so it is linear in
scale squared. Halving it quarters the pixel work.
| Install | Result |
|---|---|
| Client only | You see others. Your own activity is not broadcast. |
| Server only | Effectively nothing — a client without the mod cannot render it. |
| Both | Everyone sees everyone. |
A server-side install is how you restrict what clients broadcast, since the server config is synced to everyone. See Privacy.
Nothing about this is version-locked: a 1.21.1 client and a 26.2 client on the same server each render what they can and ignore what they cannot.
The mirror panel can look smeared or blurred at the top. Fixed in 0.0.0-beta.4; it was a
framebuffer feedback loop where the blur pass read a texture that was still bound as the active
render target, which is undefined behaviour in OpenGL and resolves differently per driver. If you
are on an earlier beta, upgrade.
Unrecognised modded interfaces show as a chest. By design — the mod has 20 known states and a
MISC fallback, and showPlayerActiveGuiIfNotExactMatch decides whether the chest is shown. If a
GUI mod you use is not covered, that is why.
None. No items, blocks, recipes, advancements or world generation. It can be removed at any time with nothing to clean up.
