Getting Started

Applies to Storage Bridge (Functional Storage) 0.0.0-beta.1 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).

Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.249+
Java 21
Functional Storage (+ Titanium) required
Sophisticated Storage (+ Sophisticated Core) required
Apothic Enchanting required
Apotheosis + Placebo required

All of them are declared as hard required dependencies in the mod metadata, ordered AFTER each one. This is not a mod that degrades gracefully — the loader will stop you if any is missing.

Two of them have their own companions: Functional Storage needs Titanium, and Sophisticated Storage needs Sophisticated Core.

Install it

Drop the JAR in mods/. No configuration, no config file, no in-game setup.

The gesture

Right-click a Functional Storage Controller — plain or framed — or a Controller Extension linked to one.

Hand main hand
Sneaking do not sneak — sneaking opens the Controller's GUI
Face any
Target the Controller, or a Controller Extension linked to it

Functional Storage's own insertion still runs on that same click. This mod adds targets to it; it does not replace what Functional Storage already does.

Reach

Functional Storage has no physical network — drawers and extensions are linked to the controller with the Linking Tool, within its linking range.

A target is therefore reachable when it touches:

  • the Controller itself, or
  • any block linked to it — the controller's connected drawers.

So a Gem Case at the far end of a large linked network counts, which is what makes this usable on a real layout rather than only on a single drawer.

If nothing happens

In order of likelihood:

  1. Nothing in your inventory matches. The rules are strict by design — see Transfer Rules.
  2. You were sneaking. That opens the GUI instead.
  3. You clicked a drawer rather than the Controller or an Extension. Only those resolve to a controller.
  4. The target is not linked. It must touch the Controller or something linked to it, within the Linking Tool's range.
  5. The destination refused the item. Both the Library and the Gem Case validate and can decline.

Building from source

Place the official functionalstorage-1.21.1-1.5.8.jar in libs/, then:

./gradlew build

The build output goes to build/libs/.

Uninstalling

Remove the JAR. Nothing is stored in saves and no blocks are added, so no world data is affected. Items already transferred stay where they were put.
