Features
Applies to the 26.2 modules. On 26.1.2 all of these live in the single
utility_coremod.
Almost everything here is either a crash guard or a server convenience. Nothing adds content.
Server-side. These are the reason most people install Utility Core at all.
Negative damage from mod interactions — the documented case is Apothic Attributes combined with Tombstone — is clamped to 0.
Without it, that combination crashes the server. It is not a visual glitch; it takes the instance down.
Limits infection damage so it cannot kill you outright before the death event fires. Without the cap the damage kills you while the death event is still pending, and the death never registers.
Three fixes in one:
- GUI scale fix — the Tombstone GUI renders at the wrong scale.
- Item NBT initialisation fix — items get their NBT set up correctly.
- Mixin error suppression — stops the mixin errors the combination produces.
Silences the block entity mismatch errors that arise from mods writing inconsistent block data.
Corrects the loot predicate interaction with Regalia Slots API, so loot that should drop does.
Returns the portal pairing fix, matching what regalia_slots_api does on its side.
Server-side.
Pre-generates chunks in a spiral pattern, and does it while the server is empty. The point is that the first players to join do not generate terrain in front of everyone else.
Managed by ChunkGenManager.
The spawn schematic area becomes:
- unbreakable
- unplaceable
- explosion-proof
- free of natural mob spawns
Worth having when the schematic has no lighting of its own — which is the usual reason a build is built with spawn protection in the first place.
Pastes a WorldEdit/FAWE .schem file at world creation, centred on world coordinates (0,0), protects
the area permanently, and sets the world spawn point inside the structure.
The schematic is not bundled. You must supply your own at:
<game-directory>/utility_core/spawn_schem/schematic_spawn.schem
Without that file the feature stays inert and says nothing at startup. enableSpawnSchematic is the
switch.
Enforces a curated list of game rules from a JSON file — applying only the rules that differ from the server's current value, so it does not churn settings that are already right.
Loads every datapack — .zip or folder — placed in:
<game-directory>/datapacks
into every world automatically, on dedicated servers and single-player alike. Packs are always enabled; there is no per-world toggle. Behaves like the Global Packs mod.
The largest module, and the one you want on the client.
When several crafting recipes match the same ingredients, a selector appears in the crafting table. Click an alternative to get the result you wanted.
Without it, Minecraft silently picks one of the matching recipes. You put items in, get an item you did not ask for, and there is no indication that an alternative existed. This is the single most useful thing in the whole family for a heavily modded pack.
Configurable: a maximum number of shown recipes, so a pathological recipe pack cannot bury you in buttons.
Shows a title on screen when you enter a new biome or dimension.
The logic is ported from Traveler's Titles by YUNGNICKYOUNG, which is LGPL-3.0. See Credits and License.
A bridging assistance feature:
- adjacency rules for what counts as bridgable,
- its own key mappings,
- crosshair tweaks so you can see what you are aiming at.
Configuration lives in BridgingConfig.
Entirely client-side.
A configurable overlay with:
- an overlay and renderer,
- a menu screen,
- and a position editor screen — drag it where you want it instead of accepting a fixed spot.
Configuration in HudConfig.
PolymorphApi — for other mods to integrate with the recipe selection system. That is the
supported extension point; the recipe selector is the feature most worth extending.
No items, no blocks, no recipes, no world generation. Utility Core is invisible when it is working, which is the point. See Compatibility.
Utility Core is by Stalking Dragons. The 1.x line is All Rights Reserved; the 26.2 line and its split modules are MIT. Biome/Dimension title logic is ported from Traveler's Titles by YUNGNICKYOUNG (LGPL-3.0).
