Java 25 — note this is higher than the 1.21.1 line, because 26.2 requires it.
A faithful port of Storage Drawers by Texelsaur to Minecraft 26.2 / NeoForge 26.2.0.57.
It is not a fork with new features. It is the same mod, adapted to a newer Minecraft. All original assets, code logic and design belong to Texelsaur. See Credits and License.
- NeoForge 26.2.0.57 or newer.
- Drop the JAR in
mods/. - Nothing else is required. The five integrations are all optional.
Craft a drawer: wood planks + chest → Basic Drawer.
Then:
- Place it. A drawer faces the player when placed, so put it down where you want to open it.
- Store items. Right-click with the item, or feed it from hoppers and pipes.
- Upgrade it. Right-click the drawer with an upgrade item.
- Trim it. Craft trim and apply it for decoration.
- Scale up. Place a Controller, link Controller Slaves, and connect your drawers to it.
A chest tells you nothing until you empty it. A drawer shows its contents on the front face, one compartment per item type, so a glance tells you what is there and what is running low.
That is the whole idea, and everything else — upgrades, controllers, compacting — extends it.
Each compartment displays how full it is, so you can spot the nearly-empty one without opening anything. With many drawers in view that is the difference between finding the item in one second and raiding four chests.
There is more than one drawer. See Drawer Blocks for the full breakdown — 1, 2 and 4 compartment counts, full and half heights, all 11 wood types, plus trim.
A single drawer is small. The Controller links up to 512 of them through Controller Slaves and gives you one interface for the whole network. See The Controller Network.
<gamedir>/config/vault-drawers-common.v2.toml
<gamedir>/config/vault_drawers_client.toml
The naming of those two is inconsistent with each other, and the .v2 in the first is part of the
filename. See Configuration.
Nothing needs changing. See Configuration for every option.
Remove the JAR. Before you do, remember that any drawers you have placed, and any items inside them, go with it. Empty the network first — there is no way to recover items from an orphaned drawer after the mod is gone.
