dArkOSen is built on the work of a number of people in the R36, ArkOS, and dArkOS communities.

The project would not exist in its current form without the work that came before it, particularly the people who developed dArkOS, investigated R36 hardware, created tools, and shared solutions with the community.

southoz

@southoz

A major contributor to the ideas and components that led to dArkOSen.

southoz's work included in dArkOSen includes:

  • RetroOz theme
  • DTB Selector tool
  • DTBs and hardware configurations used as the basis for dArkOSen's device support
  • KODI integration
  • dArkOSRE work that provided solutions and ideas used in dArkOSen

The DTB Selector included with dArkOSen was originally borrowed from dArkOSRE. The selector itself is credited to southoz; the DTBs included with dArkOSen have subsequently been customized for the hardware supported by this project.

More importantly, dArkOSen was inspired in large part by southoz's work.

Jason3x

@Jason3x

Contributed several important components used by dArkOSen, including:

  • Realtek Wi-Fi + Bluetooth driver pack
  • EmulationStation Icons Installer modded EmulationStation

The Realtek driver work has been particularly useful for supporting the range of Wi-Fi hardware encountered across R36 devices.

@SjslTech

Credit for the PortMaster fix for dArkOS incorporated into dArkOSen.

The fix addresses compatibility issues with PortMaster on dArkOS and is included as part of the dArkOSen installation.

Christian Haitian

@christianhaitian

Creator and maintainer of dArkOS, the upstream project from which dArkOSen ultimately derives.

dArkOSen is built on dArkOS and therefore stands on top of a substantial amount of work originating from the dArkOS project.

dArkOSen is not intended to replace or compete with that work. It is a light fork intended to enhance dArkOS for genuine R36 hardware, a console family unsupported by dArkOS itself.

dArkOSen

@djparentx

dArkOSen itself is developed and maintained by djparentx.

The project combines upstream dArkOS with hardware-specific changes, custom kernel work, device-tree modifications, system tools, fixes, and new features developed specifically for genuine R36 devices.

A significant portion of dArkOSen's tools are maintained as separate projects, including:

  • Wi-Fi Manager
  • BT Manager
  • CPU Manager
  • Button Mapper
  • SYSTEMS Manager
  • R36 Backup and Migration Assistant
  • Dave's Retro Shaders
  • Dave's Modern Shaders
  • Rotate Screens
  • Volume Resume Fix

These projects are developed as part of the broader dArkOSen ecosystem.

Final Credit

dArkOSen is a community project built by combining existing work with new development.

Where code, tools, fixes, themes, drivers, configurations, or ideas originate elsewhere, credit belongs to their original authors.

If it wasn't mine, I don't claim it was.
