Compatibility patches

Compatibility architecture

Xodus Nexus uses Xodus for Microsoft Store authentication and installation, with a shared runtime built on Xodus Wine, Xodus XGameRuntime and Xodus Proton.

Backend

The backend provides account authentication, license checks, package downloads and launch preparation. Sign-in pages are hosted in an isolated launcher window; credentials are stored in the desktop keyring.

Downloads support progress reporting, pause, resume and checkpoint recovery. Launch preparation resolves executable paths and creates temporary launch views without rewriting the original game installation.

Runtime

All games use the same active Nexus runtime. Its compatibility APIs cover account and token handling, networking, Store licensing, package content, task queues and save integration. Individual APIs and games can remain unsupported.

Licenses and limits

The launcher is MIT-licensed. Backend releases include corresponding GPL source. Runtime releases include component licenses and corresponding source.

A title appearing in the catalog or using a supported API does not guarantee that it runs. See Compatibility for game results.
