Development

Use Node.js 22+:

npm ci
npm run dev

Run checks before submitting a change:

npm run typecheck
npm run test
npm run test:runtime-tools
npm run test:ci-tools

Use a feature or fix branch and open a PR against develop. Integration into main uses a separate PR. Develop and PRs run source checks; distribution candidates are built only on main. Promotion reuses those files without rebuilding.

Backend and runtime

The backend reference and runtime reference contain build dependencies, commands and source locks.

Use isolated build directories and test profiles. Do not modify active game installations, original executables or personal saves. CI must not use real Microsoft accounts or game saves.
