Getting started

Float your first page

When you open Flobro you get a small launcher. Paste any link into the box (a video, a stream, a dashboard, any web address) and press Float. The page opens in a clean, frameless window that stays on top of your other apps.

The launcher remembers your recent pages so you can float them again in one click.

The hover toolbar

A floating window is pure content: no tabs, no address bar, nothing. Move your mouse to the top edge of the window and a slim toolbar slides in. Move away and it disappears again.

From left to right (window controls sit on the left on macOS and on the right on Windows), the toolbar gives you:

  • Zoom out / zoom in / reset zoom: scale the page from 25% to 500%, so even a small window shows exactly what you care about.
  • Snap to 16:9: one click sizes the window to perfect video proportions.
  • Pin (stay on top): toggle always-on-top for this window whenever you need normal stacking.
  • Minimize and Close.

To move a window, grab the toolbar area and drag.

Settings

Open Settings from the launcher to adjust:

  • Default page and open default page on launch: skip the launcher and float a page you use every day right away.
  • Stay on top by default: whether new windows float above everything (you can still toggle each window with the pin).
  • Remember recent pages: keep your last floated pages in the launcher.
  • Share anonymous usage stats: see Privacy below.

The Chrome extension

The Flobro Chrome extension floats any tab, link or video straight from your browser toolbar or the right-click menu. With the desktop app installed, choosing Open in Flobro app hands the page to a true always-on-top window. A floated tab can be sent back to the main window from the right-click menu.

Privacy

Flobro collects almost nothing. If the usage-stats setting is on, it records only that the app opened and the hostname of floated pages (like youtube.com), never full web addresses, page contents or your IP address. You can switch it off any time in Settings. Full details are on the privacy page.
