Flobro updates itself. You do not need to visit the releases page or reinstall by hand for every new version.
When you launch Flobro, it quietly checks the releases page for a newer version. If there is one, a small banner appears in the launcher showing the new version number and what changed, with two buttons:
- Update now: Flobro downloads the update, verifies it, installs it, and relaunches into the new version.
- Later: the banner closes and you keep using the current version. Flobro will offer again next time it finds an update.
Nothing is downloaded or installed until you choose Update now, so an update never interrupts what you are doing.
Every update is cryptographically signed and checked before it is installed, so the app will only install a genuine Flobro release.
- macOS: the new version is installed in place and the app relaunches automatically.
- Windows: a small progress window appears while the update installs, then the app reopens. No clicks are needed during the install.
You can always update manually instead, for example on a machine that is offline when Flobro checks:
-
macOS: download the latest
.dmgand drag Flobro into Applications, replacing the old copy. -
Windows: download and run the latest
-setup.exe; it installs over the existing version, so nothing needs to be removed first.
Both are available on the latest release.
- The in-app updater is available from version 1.0.2 onward. If you installed an earlier version, do one manual update to reach it; after that, updates are automatic.
- You can see which version you are running at the bottom of the launcher.
- Update signing is separate from the macOS notarization and any Windows signing; it only proves an update is an authentic Flobro release.
