Godot 4.8 dev 2 is a dev snapshot for the 4.8 feature release. Dev snapshots are in-development builds of the engine provided for early testing and feature evaluation while the engine is still being worked on.

Built from commit 7220d456dcf116ae5499505a237b449c0b00cfce.
To make a custom build which would also be recognized as dev2, you should define GODOT_VERSION_STATUS=dev2 in your build environment prior to compiling.
