As of Bookstack 0.8.0 the settings are now on the add-on page. You can see them by:

  1. Go to your Firefox Add-ons Manager
  2. Select the "Extensions" panel
  3. Either double-click on the Bookstack add-on or click on its "Preferences" button

The options at present are:

  • Keep focus on Sidebar on view: Allows you to view a link from the sidebar, while leaving the keyboard free to select another item in the Sidebar directly. The default behavior is enabled.
  • Confirm before clearing Stack: Allows you to see a confirmation dialog before you clear the selected folder. Default is enabled.
  • Close current page on add: Choose if the current page should be closed if you add it to the queue. Default is disabled.
  • Show notifications: Choose if you see visual confirmation when you add links to the queue. Default is enabled.
  • Remove on view: Choose if viewed links get removed automatically. Default is enabled.
  • Clear stack on Exit: Choose if the queue is emptied when Firefox shuts down. Default is disabled.
  • Middle click to add item and Requires ctrl/meta key: Together these control how you can add links. By default both are enabled, requiring you to use ctrl+click on a link to add it. If you disable "Middle click to add item" then the other preference does nothing.

The final four options control which menu items you see (by default they are all enabled):

  • Link context menu > Add Link to Stack: right-clicking on a link, you can add it
  • Content area context menu > Add This Page to Stack: right-clicking a page, you can add it
  • Content area context menu > Remove This Page from Stack: right-clicking a page, you can remove it
This is only possible if the current page is in the queue, and it will remove all copies of it when selected
  • Tools menu > Bookstack: The old menubar Tools menu (available via Alt+T) will display a menu item to toggle the sidebar
