Daily Rewards

Any crate can double as a daily-login reward: with daily mode enabled, players automatically receive that crate's keys on login, on a cooldown you set. It's the simplest way to give returning players a reason to log in every day, reusing the whole crate reward pipeline you've already configured.

Configuration (crates.yml)

Add three fields to any crate:

crates:
  daily:
    display: "&aDaily Crate"
    icon: CHEST
    price: 0
    always-open: true
daily: true # enable the daily-login key
    daily-keys: 1 # keys granted per claim
    daily-cooldown-hours: 24 # hours between claims (decimals allowed, e.g. 12.5)
    rewards:
      - "emoji:rainbow:15"
      - "chatcolor:fire:10"
Field Default Meaning
daily false Turns the crate into a daily-login crate
daily-keys 1 How many keys to grant each time the cooldown elapses
daily-cooldown-hours 24 Hours that must pass since the last claim before the next grant

You can flag multiple crates as daily; each tracks its own cooldown per player.

How claiming works

  • The grant happens on login. When a player joins, any daily crate whose cooldown has elapsed since their last claim drops its keys straight into their inventory.
  • The last-claim time is stored per player per crate in SQLite, so cooldowns survive restarts.
  • Keys are the same physical, tradeable key items as any other crate key — the player opens the crate whenever they like (or trades the key away).

Checking progress

Players run:

/cosmetics daily

...to see every daily crate and, for each, either Ready now! Just log back in to claim it. or the number of hours remaining. (Because the grant fires on login, a "ready" crate is collected the next time they join.)

Tips

  • Keep a daily crate always-open: true so the keys are always usable.
  • Pair with the pity system so daily players are guaranteed something good on a schedule.
  • Use %celestial_keys_<crate>% in a scoreboard or TAB to show players how many daily keys they're sitting on — see Placeholders.
