P.T. Android Beta 2 — Experimental ARM64
P.T. Android Beta 2 — experimental ARM64 update
Version: 1.0.7-android-beta.2
Install this signed update over P.T. Android Beta to keep your imported files,
settings and progress. The application ID remains org.ignusloki.pt.beta; the older
local prototype keeps its separate files and profile. No original game assets are
included in the APK.
Changes
- Recover Android's rendering surface when returning from another app, retaining
the running game state instead of leaving a black screen. - Add phone vibration through the touch controller, using the game's authored
rumble and the existing Vibration setting. Feedback stops when backgrounded. - Fix graphics presets getting stuck on Custom and requesting unavailable ray
tracing. Android presets use the available effects and original textures. - Add saved subtitle sizes from 100% to 200%, with a 150% Android default, improved
glyph edges and wrapping for enlarged subtitles. - Let the launcher follow portrait/landscape orientation, keep controls clear of
system bars, and remember touch-control, microphone and subtitle-size choices. - Show the actual Android render resolution in PC Settings. Display mode and
resolution are managed by Android; the S22 renders at 960×443.
Requirements and testing scope
The requirements remain Android 10 / API 29, ARM64, and Vulkan 1.3 with
the required features, resource limits and BC1/BC3 texture support. Vulkan 1.1
support has not been added. Other phones, including Snapdragon variants, remain
unverified.
The final signed APK was tested on an Exynos Galaxy S22 SM-S901B/DS, Xclipse 920, Android 16: three other-app/Back cycles, Home/Recents return, and a 30-second background interval all restored rendering in the same game process. The exported diagnostic records five successful surface recoveries without warnings or errors.
Start with Low, original textures and the 30 fps cap. The render width remains
960 pixels, preserving the phone's aspect ratio, with a 1,024-pixel uploaded-mip
limit. These checks do not establish sustained performance or complete-game
compatibility.
Phone vibration and the final-puzzle timing need tester feedback. A phone actuator
adapts the controller's motor signals; vibration strength and feel vary by device.
Android may terminate a background game process under memory pressure, requiring
normal startup from the saved profile. Microphone recognition can take several
seconds. Fresh import, physical controllers and wider lifecycle/device coverage
still need regression testing.
Use Save diagnostic log in the launcher when reporting issues. Include phone
model, Android version, scene/loop, settings and reproduction steps. Review logs
before sharing, and keep the original package and game archives out of reports.
Build assets: PT-1.0.7-android-beta.2-arm64.apk, BUILD.json, SHA256SUMS, and the
patched LibOrbisPkg source archive required by its license. Developer details are
in docs/devlog-android-beta-2.md on the Android branch.
P.T. Android Beta 1 — Experimental ARM64
P.T. Android Beta 1 — experimental ARM64 release
Version: 1.0.7-android-beta.1
Our first public Android beta lets you select your own P.T. .pkg, import its
game files and play on a phone. It includes basic touch controls, the existing
SDL controller bridge, and the phone microphone for local voice recognition.
No original game assets are included.
This prerelease is based on macOS 1.0.7, including the recent synchronization with
LoreanXavier's upstream port. Android
build and shared-code changes remain on codex/android-port-prototype.
The stable macOS branch and latest stable release are unchanged. This APK does
not include the separate experimental spatial-audio work.
- Download:
PT-1.0.7-android-beta.1-arm64.apkin the assets below. - Install and phone requirements: Installation guide.
- Development log: Android Beta 1 devlog.
- Source/build details: Developer notes.
Requirements and tested device
The APK minimum is Android 10 / API 29, ARM64 and Vulkan 1.3 with the
required descriptor features/limits and BC1/BC3 texture support. Vulkan 1.3 alone
does not guarantee compatibility. We recommend 8 GB RAM or more and 6 GB
free internal storage, plus space for your package if needed. A dependable
minimum RAM specification is not yet established.
Verified on an Exynos Galaxy S22 SM-S901B/DS, Xclipse 920, Android 16.
Snapdragon variants and other phones are unverified. Start with Low, original
textures and the 30 fps cap. Short starting-room samples held 30 fps at
960×443; this is not a full-game or sustained-performance guarantee.
Included in this beta
- Android file-picker import using the existing PKG extractor; no PC required.
- Reduced texture/upload budgets and a 960-pixel-wide Android render surface.
- Correct landscape presentation and a fix for repeated swapchain recreation.
- Startup microphone permission, built-in phone capture, enable/disable and word test.
- Simultaneous movement/look sticks and context-sensitive menu buttons. PC
Settings opens directly; Column changes menu columns. Navigation controls
hide during gameplay. - Unlocked loop browser for beta testing and a Save diagnostic log button.
- A signed, non-debuggable Release APK with its own app ID, checksums and build metadata.
Known limits
Recognition took approximately 7 seconds in two S22 word tests; the final
puzzle and longer sessions need more testing. Physical controllers, Bluetooth,
other GPUs, rotation and Android lifecycle behavior need wider coverage. Keep
the app in the foreground during import; import interruption/recovery is not yet
a complete feature. HDR, enhanced textures, ray queries, desktop upscalers,
frame generation and VR are unavailable. Some desktop preview features are
placeholders, and basic touch controls do not expose every controller action.
The public P.T. Android Beta (org.ignusloki.pt.beta) coexists with the earlier
local prototype. Their files and progress are separate and are not migrated
automatically. Updates to this beta should be installed over the app;
uninstalling or clearing storage erases its imported files and saves.
Please report issues with the phone,
Android version, scene/loop, settings and reproduction steps. Export diagnostics
from the launcher, review the log and attach it if useful. Do not attach game
archives or the original package.
The release also provides the patched LibOrbisPkg source used by the launcher,
its license notices, the installation guide, devlog, SHA256SUMS and BUILD.json.
P.T. PC Port for macOS 1.0.8-spatial.1 — Experimental Spatial Audio
P.T. PC Port for macOS 1.0.8-spatial.1 — Experimental spatial audio
This is an experimental prerelease based on the fork's stable macOS 1.0.7, published from codex/spatial-audio-research for community listening and regression checks. It is separate from main and codex/macos-arm64-port. The stable release remains 1.0.7, and its normal update checker does not offer GitHub prereleases.
Lorean is working on spatial audio upstream. This fork preview gathers feedback on our current implementation while that work continues; it is not presented as upstream's implementation or a finished replacement.
Changes
- Adds optional Spatial headphones in PC Settings → Sound → Audio output on macOS. Stereo remains the default; existing Stereo/Surround choices are preserved.
- Converts the game's horizontal 7.1 mix through Apple's native headphone spatial renderer. It works with stereo headphones, including AirPods, and outputs a two-channel headphone signal.
- Shows Playing through separately from the saved next-start choice, including Stereo (fallback) if native spatial processing is unavailable or fails.
- Includes shared left/right peak protection, bounded processing blocks and an audible transition to the original stereo path if processing fails.
- Applies the session's output choice to Museum audio/video playback. Changing the saved mode requires a full quit/relaunch.
- Adds optional numeric audio diagnostics for routing, source-channel activity, levels, clipping protection, callback timing and errors. It does not record microphone/audio samples.
This preview has no head tracking, personalized ear/head profile, Dolby Atmos certification, or individual 3D sound objects. Source height has already been folded into horizontal speaker channels. The effect may be subtle or unconvincing for some listeners. The Direct 3D mode from the separate Audio Lab app is not part of this game build.
Windows and Linux keep their existing Stereo/Surround paths; this release contains Mac packages only.
Downloads and installation
Requires macOS 14 or newer and the same compatible Metal GPU as stable 1.0.7.
- Apple silicon (M1 or newer):
P.T.PC.Port.Setup-macOS-arm64.zip. - Intel:
P.T.PC.Port.Setup-macOS-x64.zip.
Each Setup app lets you select your own complete P.T. fake PKG or extracted game folder and choose where to install. Portable app ZIPs and disk images are also provided. Game archives and the standalone Audio Lab/radio clip are not included in the release.
Back up your profile before testing. Installing the app to a separate folder keeps the stable app available, but both versions normally share ~/Library/Application Support/pt-port/pt/. This preview adds an audio setting and retains the baseline game's saves/settings. Before returning to stable, choose Stereo and quit. Use the stable installer for rollback. Unsigned/notarization handling is unchanged: packages are signed ad hoc and not Apple-notarized; see the Mac opening instructions.
What to test
- Connect both headphones, select them as the Mac's output and keep other headphone spatial effects off during comparisons. Check that macOS mono output is off.
- Choose Spatial headphones, fully quit/reopen, and confirm Playing through: Spatial headphones. Compare with Stereo after another restart, with the same comfortable volume.
- Listen near the radio while slowly turning the camera. Compare front, side and rear; check bathroom crying, Lisa footsteps/breathing, fridge sounds, loud transitions and Museum playback. Report no audible difference too.
- Check pause/resume, loop changes, and headset disconnect/reconnect. After the initial comparison, test microphone input and the final voice puzzle, preferably first with the Mac's built-in microphone. Opening a Bluetooth headset microphone may change the playback format.
- If anything sounds wrong, return to Stereo and compare the same scene. Include your Mac model/GPU, macOS version, headphones/connection, game loop/sound, requested and active modes, microphone device and
pt.login a fork issue.
The ordinary log is ~/Library/Application Support/pt-port/pt/pt.log and is replaced on the next launch. Keep a copy after each mode comparison. For detailed signal metrics, launch with PT_AUDIO_DIAGNOSTICS=1; see the diagnostic instructions.
Validation and limits
The Apple silicon candidate passed scripted startup/menu/gameplay and Museum checks, settings migration, original Stereo/Surround negotiation, native speaker direction/variable-buffer checks, limiter/failure handling, controller routing and microphone cleanup tests. Manual AirPods sessions confirmed both modes, rear-channel activity, no fallback, no invalid/clipped output samples and no recorded callback-budget overruns. The user reported little audible difference, which remains a listening-quality question.
Both release architectures are built and tested on their corresponding native GitHub Mac runners; exact results, source commit and download hashes accompany the packages. Hosted Intel checks do not replace graphics or spatial listening tests on a physical Intel Mac. This experimental feature has not yet been accepted in Intel gameplay. Audio-device changes, headset microphone combinations and convincing spatial perception still need wider hardware feedback.
P.T. PC Port for macOS 1.0.7 — Upstream synchronization
P.T. PC Port for macOS 1.0.7
This release brings our macOS branch in sync with LoreanXavier/pt-pc through
upstream commit 61139aa on the 1.0.3 line, while retaining this fork's Mac installers and fixes. We are continuing
the integration work so these Mac changes can be proposed to Lorean's repository in a future pull request.
The fork's release number is independent of upstream's release number.
Upstream changes included
- Mods can add or replace glTF models and change objects, lights and collision through
level.json. - Museum navigation, model inspection, lighting and audio transcripts have been improved.
- Photo mode, the ending camera, moving-camera blur, HDR and several image effects have been corrected.
- Gameplay fixes cover the Gouge it out replay/respawn state, the final-loop X photo, Lisa's behavior and other
differences from the original game. Game+ announces the current tier once. - Microphone opening runs in the background. Log and crash-report sharing remain opt-in and identify the
upstream developer as the recipient.
See upstream's full 1.0.3 changelog.
Mac integration
- Reconciled the upstream renderer and MetalFX interfaces with our Mac performance changes.
- Fixed Vulkan/Metal submission recovery when an upscale pass fails, motion-blur target formats and UI composition
on interpolated frames. - Fixed microphone worker lifetime and cancellation handling.
- Made package architecture verification compatible with older and newer Xcode tools.
- Retained startup microphone permission, the saved microphone On/Off setting, first-boot settings rendering,
fullscreen mouse alignment, optional Fast Walk and the forest/P.T. icon in both apps. - Apple silicon and Intel each have a graphical PKG/folder installer and a portable app. Updates follow this fork's
Releases page.
Installation and compatibility
Requires macOS 14 or newer and a compatible Metal GPU. Select your Mac's CPU:
- Apple silicon (M1 or newer):
P.T.PC.Port.Setup-macOS-arm64.zip. - Intel:
P.T.PC.Port.Setup-macOS-x64.zip.
Unzip the Setup app, open it, select your own complete P.T. fake PKG or decrypted game folder, and choose an
installation location. Updating an existing installation preserves game archives, saves, settings and mods.
Back up your profile before updating or rolling back; this update also includes upstream's save-format changes.
Original game archives are not included in these downloads. Portable ZIPs and disk images are available for both CPUs.
Downloads are signed locally and are not Apple-notarized. Follow the opening instructions in the
macOS guide.
MetalFX upscaling depends on GPU support. Experimental frame generation requires supported Apple silicon and
macOS 26 or newer; it remains Off by default. On Intel, start at 1280 × 720, Low, 30 FPS, Reflections Off and
Enhanced textures Off. Integrated and older GPUs may lack required rendering features.
Validation
The integration candidate passed Apple silicon gameplay regression, startup/menu rendering and MetalFX checks.
The release packages are built on native Apple silicon and Intel GitHub runners, with game, extractor, packaged
voice, dependency, signature and installer tests. Build details and download hashes accompany the release.
Native Intel gameplay was checked for 1.0.6 on a 2019 MacBook Pro; this update's Intel GPU gameplay has not been
retested on that machine. Windows and Linux binaries are not part of this Mac release.
P.T. for Mac 1.0.6 — Apple silicon and Intel
P.T. for Mac 1.0.6 — Apple silicon and Intel
This release includes the rendering updates from PR #3 and the native HDR fix from PR #4. Separate graphical installers are available for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or newer. Players select their own complete P.T. fake PKG or decrypted game folder and the installation location. No Terminal, Homebrew, Vulkan SDK or .NET installation is required.

Changes since 1.0.5
- Updates frame pacing and rendering work, including compute bloom, motion-blur buffers and GPU timing. The ordinary rendering path passed the comparison against 1.0.5.
- Adds optional MetalFX frame generation to the Apple silicon package. It requires macOS 26 or newer and a GPU that Apple's runtime reports as supported. It stays Off by default and uses V-sync while active. The Intel package is built with the macOS 15.5 SDK and does not include this feature; ordinary MetalFX upscaling remains available when supported.
- Fixes Native HDR being silently blocked by the normal upscaler device hooks. Supported Mac displays can now use the native extended-linear HDR output. Changing Native HDR still requires a restart. HDR stays Off by default, and frame generation stays disabled while native HDR is active.
- Retains startup microphone authorization, the persistent Sound → Microphone input toggle, fullscreen mouse alignment, the forest/P.T. icon, default-off Fast Walk and installer update/rollback support.
Frame generation has its own GPU cost and may reduce performance at high resolutions. Try it at a moderate resolution and compare with it Off; this release makes no frame-rate promise. Upscaling and Fast Walk also remain Off by default.
Install or update
- Download and unzip the Setup package for your Mac.
- Open P.T. PC Port Setup.app.
- Select your own complete P.T. fake PKG or decrypted game folder.
- Choose a writable parent folder. To update an existing installation, choose the parent of its P.T. PC Port folder.
- Open P.T. PC Port.app inside that folder. Keep it beside CUSA01127.
Updates preserve player saves, settings, mods and usable game archives outside the replaced app bundle. The profile remains at ~/Library/Application Support/pt-port/pt/. A different installation folder uses the same account's profile; it does not reset progress. Existing P.T..app installations are recognized during updates.
The optional portable ZIP contains the game runtime. Place your own extracted CUSA01127 folder beside its app, or select the folder when prompted. Original game archives are excluded from every download. Published Mac builds check this fork's releases for updates.
Intel performance and compatibility
The previous 1.0.5 release was accepted on a 2019 MacBook Pro, with slower performance. Start at Windowed 1280 × 720, Low, 30 FPS, Reflections Off and Enhanced textures Off. Keep Upscaling Off for an initial comparison; try MetalFX only when available on your GPU.
The new rendering changes compile for Intel and pass CPU and packaged-runtime checks through Rosetta on Apple silicon. They still need a native Intel gameplay check. The renderer requires GPU features that some Intel integrated graphics and older AMD GPUs lack; model year alone does not establish compatibility. Ray tracing, VR and Windows-only upscalers remain unavailable on Mac.
Microphone and macOS approval
When microphone input is On and macOS has no decision recorded, the game requests permission at startup. Granting permission does not start recording. PC Settings (F10) → Sound → Microphone input controls capture and its test, and persists across launches. An existing macOS decision skips the prompt; denied access can be changed in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
The apps are ad-hoc signed and not Apple-notarized. If macOS blocks a trusted downloaded copy, attempt to open it and use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway if offered. See Apple's instructions.
Validation and credits
The merge candidates passed Apple silicon rendering comparisons, gameplay walkthrough checks, fullscreen/menu checks, native Metal tests, frame-generation checks and HDR startup checks. Both architectures compile; CPU suites run natively on Apple silicon and through Rosetta for Intel. Release packages are checked for target architecture, macOS minimum, signatures, included dependencies, voice loading and installer unpacking/rollback.
BUILD-INFO.json records the source and validation scope; SHA256SUMS.txt records the download hashes. Native Intel gameplay for these updates, longer frame-generation sessions, external HDR10 displays, Windows/Linux native CI and Windows Streamline hardware remain outside the completed checks.
Thanks to LoreanXavier and upstream contributors, ahm3texe for the upstream Mac work, ginnfx/brajan zalta for the MetalFX, performance and HDR contributions, and rfpm for the icon.

Changes since preview 5
- Adds a native Intel graphical installer and matching game, extractor and voice modules.
- Incorporates the latest tested upstream rendering, audio, controller and installer updates through
edb5a85. - Reconciles Mac packaging so both CPUs use the same app layout, dependency audits and installer repair/rollback.
- Uses P.T. PC Port.app and P.T. PC Port Setup.app, with the supplied forest/P.T. icon. Existing
P.T..appinstallations are recognized during updates. - Retains startup microphone authorization, the persistent Sound → Microphone input toggle, corrected fullscreen mouse alignment, optional MetalFX upscaling and default-off Fast Walk.
- Uses this fork's release endpoint in the published Mac builds so update notices follow the Mac releases here.
MetalFX and Fast Walk remain Off by default. PR #3's MetalFX frame generation is not included.
The optional portable ZIP contains the game runtime. Place your own extracted CUSA01127 folder beside its app, or select the folder when prompted. Original game archives are excluded from every download.
Intel performance and compatibility
The user confirmed installation and gameplay on a 2019 MacBook Pro, with slower performance. Start at Windowed 1280 × 720, Low, 30 FPS, Reflections Off and Enhanced textures Off. Keep Upscaling Off for an initial comparison; try MetalFX only when available on your GPU. No measured frame rate or exact GPU was supplied, so this release does not promise a particular Intel frame rate.
The renderer requires GPU features that some Intel integrated graphics and older AMD GPUs lack. A model year alone does not establish compatibility; lowering settings cannot provide a missing required GPU feature.
Apple silicon regression and native Intel installation/gameplay were accepted by the user. Release packages are checked for target architecture, macOS minimum, signatures, included dependencies, voice loading, installer unpacking and rollback. BUILD-INFO.json records the exact source and checks; SHA256SUMS.txt records the download hashes. Native Windows/Linux CI remains separate work for a future upstream PR.
Thanks to LoreanXavier and upstream contributors, ahm3texe for the upstream Mac work, ginnfx/brajan zalta for MetalFX and performance contributions, and rfpm for the icon.
P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 5 (1.0.4)
P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 5 (1.0.4)
For Apple silicon Macs (M1 and newer) running macOS 14 or later. The native installer and included game runtime are arm64-only. Intel Macs are not supported by these packages.
Changes
- Incorporates upstream's 1.0.2 gameplay, platform and controller updates while retaining the Mac port's MetalFX synchronization and optional Fast Walk.
- Corrects menu mouse coordinates when switching between windowed and fullscreen modes, including Retina scaling and borders around the rendered image.
- Requests microphone permission before gameplay when microphone input is enabled. Permission requests do not start recording, and denying access does not block gameplay.
- Adds PC settings (F10) > Sound > Microphone input. On is the default. Off stops capture, disables the microphone test and device selection, and skips the permission request at the next launch. The choice is saved; the optional keyboard/controller trigger remains independent.
- Includes the supplied P.T. artwork as the default icon for the game and native Setup (Thanks rfpm for the icon).
macOS remembers the microphone authorization decision. An already approved app does not ask again; denied access can be changed in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
MetalFX remains off by default. To enable it, use PC settings > Upscaling > Apple MetalFX and start with Quality. Fast Walk remains off by default under PC settings > Extras > Fast walk.
Install or update
- Download PT-Mac-Setup-arm64.zip and unzip it.
- Open P.T. Mac Setup.app.
- Select your own complete P.T. fake PKG or decrypted game dump folder.
- Choose a writable destination. To update, choose the parent of your existing P.T. PC Port folder.
- Open P.T..app inside P.T. PC Port.
Keep P.T..app and CUSA01127 together. The installer reuses complete existing game archives when updating and preserves saves, settings and mods outside the app bundle. Use a separate destination to compare another game copy.
Players do not need Homebrew, a Vulkan SDK or .NET. Original P.T. game files are not included. pt-port-macos-arm64.zip is the optional portable runtime: place your own CUSA01127 folder beside P.T..app.
Validation
The user confirmed correct mouse alignment after switching display modes and confirmed that the microphone prompt appeared at startup. The Sound menu was checked with input both On and Off; its live microphone test received 16 kHz input. The scripted microphone menu regression passed all 21 assertions, with settings persistence, voice-matching, display/pointer and packaging checks passing.
The rebuilt package's exact version, source commit, automated checks, architecture, download hashes and signing status are recorded in BUILD-INFO.json and SHA256SUMS.txt. Testing was performed on an M1 Pro. Intel Macs and other Mac/OS combinations have not been validated for this preview.
macOS approval
This preview is ad-hoc signed and has not been notarized by Apple. If macOS blocks a trusted downloaded copy, attempt to open it and use System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway if offered. See Apple's instructions.

P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 4 (1.0.3)
P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 4 (1.0.3)
Version 1.0.3 adds Apple MetalFX temporal upscaling, with fixes for GPU synchronization and macOS fullscreen/resolution changes. For M1 and newer Macs running macOS 14 or later. Built from macos-arm64-preview-4, commit 877aa3b8474809904309416e27c229a41178b6c8.
What's changed
- Integrates ginnfx's MetalFX PR #1, including Metal texture exports and the R16Float exposure conversion.
- Uses timeline semaphores to coordinate Vulkan and MetalFX. Scene rendering finishes before MetalFX starts, and the remaining frame waits for its result. Resources remain alive until the GPU completes the frame.
- Waits for macOS window transitions before resizing the renderer, fixing mismatched drawable sizes when changing fullscreen mode or resolution.
- Retains optional Fast Walk, lighting and Arabic-font fixes, first-boot settings fixes and incomplete-PKG error handling.
Enable MetalFX
Upscaling is off by default. Open PC settings (F10) → Upscaling, choose Apple MetalFX and start with Quality. Native uses the display resolution for temporal anti-aliasing; Balanced and Performance reduce the internal resolution further. Quality and backend changes take effect during play.
Fast Walk is still off by default. Enable PC settings → Extras → Fast walk, then hold either Shift key or the controller's bottom face button (Xbox A / PlayStation X) for 50% faster walking.
Install or update
- Download PT-Mac-Setup-arm64.zip and unzip it.
- Open P.T. Mac Setup.app.
- Select your own complete P.T. PS4 fake PKG or decrypted game dump folder.
- Choose a writable installation folder. To update, choose the parent of your existing P.T. PC Port folder.
- Open P.T..app inside P.T. PC Port.
Keep P.T..app and CUSA01127 together. Existing complete game archives, saves, settings and mods outside the app bundle are preserved during an update. Use a separate destination to compare another copy of the game.
The runtime and dependencies are included; players do not need Homebrew, a Vulkan SDK or .NET. Original P.T. game data is not included. The optional pt-port-macos-arm64.zip is the portable runtime; put your own CUSA01127 folder beside P.T..app.
Validation
On the M1 Pro, 14 packaging checks, all 12 build test targets, 10 extractor regressions, the packaged voice check and the signed installer payload self-test passed. The packaged app renders the first-boot options and the opening scene at 1080p with MetalFX Quality. Its settings transition test passed all 31 assertions with Metal validation enabled. Both ZIPs passed integrity, executable-permission and game-data-exclusion checks.
Both existing local installations updated to 1.0.3 and matched the signed release runtime. All 14 checked game, package and preference files stayed unchanged. The earlier test build also passed live fullscreen/resolution, v-sync, focus and upscaler changes, and the user confirmed it worked in manual gameplay. Other Mac models and physical microphone/controller input need further coverage. Vulkan validation layers are unavailable with this direct MoltenVK loader.
macOS approval
This preview is ad-hoc signed and has not been notarized by Apple. If macOS blocks a trusted downloaded copy, attempt to open it and use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway if offered. See Apple's instructions.
SHA256SUMS.txt verifies the downloads; BUILD-INFO.json records the source, checks and signing status.
P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 3 (1.0.2)
P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 3 (1.0.2)
Version 1.0.2 adds optional built-in Fast Walk to the native Apple Silicon port.
For M1 and newer Macs running macOS 14 or later. Built from macos-arm64-preview-3, commit ff231ff059c3012c6aa180db92852a5f1710c210.
Fast Walk
Open PC settings → Extras → Fast walk to enable it. It is off by default, saves your choice, and takes effect immediately.
Hold either Shift key or the controller's bottom face button (Xbox A / PlayStation X) to walk 50% faster. Release for normal speed. The controller button keeps its original interaction action; keyboard interaction keys and mouse clicks do not trigger the boost.
Original directional speeds, analog stick strength and red-loop speed are preserved beneath the boost. Camera controls, game and puzzle timing, gravity and collision handling keep their original behavior. No external Windows/Linux plugins are required.
The lighting and Arabic-font fixes, first-boot settings fix and incomplete-PKG error handling from preview 2 are retained.
Install or update
- Download PT-Mac-Setup-arm64.zip and unzip it.
- Open P.T. Mac Setup.app.
- Select your own complete P.T. PS4 fake PKG or decrypted game dump folder.
- Choose a writable installation folder. To update, choose the parent of your existing P.T. PC Port folder.
- Open P.T..app inside P.T. PC Port.
Keep P.T..app and CUSA01127 together. Use a separate installation destination to compare another copy of the game. Updates reuse complete existing game archives and preserve saves, settings and mods outside the app bundle.
The runtime and dependencies are included; players do not need Homebrew, a Vulkan SDK or .NET. Original P.T. game data is not included.

Validation
On the M1 Pro, the release passed 14 packaging checks, all 11 build test targets, 10 extraction checks, 29 graphics cases, the packaged voice check and the signed installer payload self-test. Both ZIPs passed integrity, executable-permission and game-data-exclusion checks.
Game checks passed: 61 input/movement checks with original animations, 28 settings/gameplay assertions, 4 restart assertions, 9 first-boot/focus assertions, and all 27 full-game walkthrough checkpoints with Fast Walk enabled and held. Actual walking measured about 1.5× normal speed; wall/floor collisions and original frame cadence passed. All 16 checked existing game, source-package and preference files stayed unchanged.
The earlier local Fast Walk build was also confirmed working by the user. Physical controller/microphone input and other Mac models need further validation.

P.T. for Mac — Apple Silicon preview 2 (1.0.1)
Native installer for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and newer), macOS 14 or later.
Built from macos-arm64-preview-2, commit 8428d49477ca13cc0cd5df07bccbb2106d53f4de.
Install or update
- Download PT-Mac-Setup-arm64.zip and unzip it.
- Open P.T. Mac Setup.app.
- Select your own complete P.T. PS4 fake PKG or decrypted game dump folder.
- Choose a writable installation folder. For an update, choose the parent of your existing P.T.

Changes since preview 1
- Merge the synced upstream main branch through
ca60666892b66d20044e84471a450bf539482104, including version 1.0.1. - Include upstream's DLSS swapchain recovery and Windows surface-creation fixes. DLSS and frame generation remain disabled in the Apple Silicon build.
- Update the Mac game and installer versions to 1.0.1 and rebuild both packages from the merged source.
- Preserve the MoltenVK lighting fix, bundled Arabic fonts, first-boot settings fix and clearer incomplete-PKG error from preview 1.
Validation
Tested on an M1 Pro. This build passed all 14 packaging checks, the CPU/platform test targets, 10 extraction checks, 29 graphics cases, the packaged voice check, the signed installer self-test and both ZIP integrity checks.
The installed release passed all 27 full-walkthrough checkpoints and all nine cold-start assertions. The same nine assertions passed in a real 2560×1440 Mac window; the first-boot settings screen rendered, Escape started the game, and normal focus-loss pausing worked afterward.
The native installer updated both local installations. SHA-256 checks confirmed that all 13 checked game, source-package and preference files were unchanged. Microphone input, physical controllers and other Mac models still need validation.
